I've played in 0.0 and empire. While in 0.0 my corpmates would always have to spend time in empire earning the isk it took to finance their 0.0 PvP. Sure some would run sites and rat in 0.0 but a lot more would go run lvl 4 missions or have an alt that ran the lvl 4 missions for them.
So my question is why do members of 0.0 corps/alliances stand for the bosses getting rich off moon-goo and such while they have to bust ass to earn the isk needed to live in 0.0?

Why do people in real life put up with bosses earning more and taking all the credit for the work of the peaseants

Edited by: Cashcow Golden Goose on 12/07/2011 15:30:34 That's complex. If your alliance takes all your profits, you're in the wrong alliance. If your alliance takes none of your profits, your alliance won't last long.
Somewhere in between is the key.

Not that I think its fair, I just can't believe you are asking this...
1) Have you ever had a job in RL....
2) Setup your own alliance and lead it. --- Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum I can tell you that this is one of the moments when we look at what those at CCP will do and less of what they say. |

0.0 Costs money to maintain, most players do not mind giving ISK to the alliance and corps because.
1. Good fights, We want to fight and 0.0 has fights..
2. You make more isk. better sites, better minerals. 3. Corp replacment programs...free ships and mods in some cases 4. logitics. Corp pays for fuel for carrier to jump your stuff into the area or makes it easy to get your assest where you need them. 5. manufacturing...gives posses to make stuff.
Sure there are more but I could not go back to empire. I also doubt good CEO make that much isk...running a corp or alliance takes a lot of time. If they wanted isk they could get it far more effecently than running a corp. Don't like the deal join a diffrent corp with lower tax's or splits isk but offers nothing else. ______ Hello WoW players. Look at your toon, now back to me. Sadly it isn't me, but if it wasn't simplistic pre scripted linear mono dimensional game you could look like me. I'm in a Paladin |

I've never been an alliance head, but I know it takes an innordinate amount of time doing a lot of things related to the game that I wouldn't find entertaining at all (solving disputes between players, listening to people whine, getting people to refill pos's.. stroking and cajoling ego's to do what the alliance needs, developing or maintaining the alliances websites and voice servers.
Even if you do enjoy all that stuff, it certainly would take time away from potential isk earning activities like running missions or trading or manufacturing.
Given that the alliance leaders are pretty experienced at the game, its pretty reasonable to assume that they'd have high isk per hour earnings potential in those activities.
I'd say they should be making 50 million isk an hour for the time in and out of game they spent on those alliance central activities...given that many probably put in more than 8 hours a day (yeah get a life!)...I'd say they'd be entitled 400 million isk a day out of lost opportunity cost.
I doubt many get close to what they deserver in terms of opportunity cost.

Moon goo income goes to SC funds, which ensure the continued existence, its a win-win deal for manager and managed.
0.0 is totally broken though, with all the NAPS, super capitals, resource distribution bottlenecks etc..

For vast majority of grunts the deal is just bad but they do it anyway out of habit. It is easy to fall into RL pattern in EVE where you just do what you are told and that`s it. If you care about your wallet you`d be in highsec running incursions or maybe in small organized wormhole corp.
Alliance leadership is also annoying position, all that diplo work makes one go crazy sooner or later.

Some alliance members started the basically stupid thing to gain an advantage over other alliances. Now they all need to do it to keep up.
It's the same as with working for low payment irl.

The points people making about the amount of time and effort and headache that goes into running a 0.0 Alliance/Corp are fair and I didn't take them into account. So I can understand that the Bosses/Managers should be compensated for that.
Opening the "books" to Alliance/Corp members would probably help alleviate the frustration I felt and I'm thinking others feel as we spend time grinding isk in between CTA's in order to afford the ships needed to attend the CTA's.

Goonswarm works this way. There's one guy who reports on pretty much where every isk is going.

Most 0.0 alliance players are dumb drones. Not everyone for sure - but the majority.
Most people in 0.0 are there for one of 2 reasons.
1 They just want to fight. Basically they dont care about isk so as long as their alliance makes it easy to keep a decent ship in the hanger flying they dont care isk. Which of course means a leader who does care gets rich.
2 They feel empowered by living in 0.0 so they put up with a bad deal to live there.
As noted this isnt the case with every alliance. But it is with most.
Wherever you went - Here you are.

They keep the isk because people let them.
If everyone, at the same time said "Screw you and your billion isk per month"... the chaos, it would be priceless.
There is no monocle. |
