I have two characters on one of my accounts and I'm baffled as to why the info buttons in the character sheet window skills list behave differently in each case.
On the first character I created, clicking a skill info button opens a second window but on the second character it creates a new tab within the character sheet window and can't be closed without also closing the character sheet.
Why is the second character acting like this and what can I do to prevent it? |

It's an option in the Eve settings (hit escape) to open new windows in tabs when possible. You can also just drag the tab away to separate it from the rest of the window. |

Esc menu option:
General settings
Windows (left column, middle part)
Windows snap distance. this means if a window is close enough to another window it will merge them together.
Also, there are 2 options that will make windows open in separate tabs or in existing windows Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. But thanks for your second suggestion - that seems to have worked. |

EDIT:
When stuff opens in a new tab in the same window, you don't have to close them both. Right click a tab and select 'close tab' to close that tab only. Thanks - I've always wondered what is meant by 'snap distance'. |
