hi
We get our share of Tengus trying to run our sites ( WH ), sometimes single, sometimes in pairs.
What ships and strategies would you suggest ? ... it will be several of us vs them.
Was thinking of a 'throw-away' BCs to overwhelm them, rather than expensive ships.
But open to all effective solutions ie Recons , etc.
Thanks

Cov ops gets close -> Hic/dic/Inti/fast lock tackle warps to 0 -> bubble/point -> warp in Battleships, BC's, HaC's, Carriers, Titants, -> Shoot Tengu
Cov ops (lots) gets into position -> Shoot Tengu (TP's)
Cov op T3's (lots) gets into position -> Shoot Tengu
Leave Heavy Tank Mining barge somewhere silly -> point -> Warp in Battleships, BC's, HaC's, Carriers, Titants, -> Shoot Tengu

Edited by: Mara Abraham on 15/07/2011 14:07:00 Good day:
Why do you need several ships to kill one (Minmatar militia pilots below not related to me other than being in the same militia)?

While of course some people consider ego boosting the most important reason to react to a topic, would it really hurt you that much to read the topic?
Hint: it is about WHs.
In WHs tengus have no enormous resist holes you can easily kill them through.
In WHs the NPCs will simply alpha strike your little stealth bomber before going back to fighting the tengu

Edited by: Diesel47 on 15/07/2011 18:41:28 All you really need are a buncha gank hurricanes + a falcon with full caldari ECM.
Falcon finds and gives warp-in for interceptor.
Tackler nabs tengu.
Falcon(s) uncloaks and perma-jams the tengu.
Shield gank hurricanes with neuts warp in and make short work of target.

Get cloaky to scout, identify toon, backgroun check toon for fits. Procede accordingly.
Active tank: neut/ecm...dead.
Passive tank: Blob.
Variety is the spice of life.

Edited by: TaluxA on 16/07/2011 10:58:59 I don't know why people are posting all these elaborate strategies to kill an mwd fit tengu.
Usually a couple of battlecruisers, a prober and tackle is enough to kill one as long as you can land a scram.
Edit: Or sometimes even a single cane with dual neuts could do the job.

Wot we've done:-
1. Hero point Stealth Bomber uncloaks - insta point, or near enough. 2. Falcon uncloaks and jams it to prevent the SB popping 3. Curse warps in to neut out the Tengu's cap in 1 or possibly 2 cycles. No-one passive tanks a Tengu. If they do then you don't need the Curse, obviously. 4. DD warps in and pops the Tengu.
Gone in 60 seconds with salvage/pod ransom.

Are we still talking about WHs? Because last time I was in them sleepers had this little tendency of disliking ewar -> they simply take down your falcon.

there was this one time a few months back. My corp had established a med POS in a WH and we had been doing the sites and mining the ore and doing this and that. I was in my tengu doing a site. vigilant with dscan. tapping it as often as my fingers could while flying and shooting rats. I spotted a tengu for just an instant on dscan. next instant it was gone. "cloaked" I thought. I turned my tengu to a handy celestial and continued firing on the very last rat. battleship something. I had a hold full of nice loot and salvage and just wanted this very last one. visions of cool new loot never before seen kept me firing, while aligned of course, and my eyes on fixed rats icon waiting, waiting, and then down in the bottom of my overview, a blinking something caught my eye. Shizzle! some little frigate was targeting me. I hit warp to, and nothing happened, Gah! Disrupted! in the next instant i hit the fire button and saw him go to structure almost immediately, another volley and he was in his pod, and his gang warped in. Three tengus, they immediately scrammed me. I aligned, made sure my afterburner was on and opened fire on the nearest one scramming me. I was very slowly outrunning them, but their combined fire was wearing me down real quick. I could see I wasnt going to make it so I shouted out an alert to everyone, spammed warp to and waited for it. it wasnt long in coming, a lot longer then I thought possible, and I actually realized after a while that id hurt one and he was in trouble, but i was in more trouble, and they they got me. I warped my pod out, ha ha. it was a good trap well executed. they paid with one cheap covops but they got a tengu. I was crushed by my loss and shed some tears inlocal, bewailing my poor lost tengu. The griefers were happy they'd executed their plan so well. I was glad to get out with my pod. of course they then besieged our POS and we had a fun time shooting at each other. They had a good remote repair chain setup for some battleships. Four I think, and they did us some damage. our corp only had four active members working in the POS, we couldnt mount a sucessful defense within our budget so the heck with it, we'll come back when we are bigger and stronger. good times though.

Seriously, just bring an armor Hurricane. 2 webs + 2 neuts = 1 dead Tengu. Unless he's for some insane reason a boostered PvE fit, he'll be absolutely dead still and capped shortly. Tengus really don't have a ton of buffer, especially when you're shooting straight EM damage into a 10% EM resist. Fit a kin hardener for a bit of extra resists against them.
