Just had a look at the stats in EFT.. and was a little surprised to see 2 heavy imperial navy neuts cud cap out a battlecruiser pretty much in 1 salvo.. with all the optimals of the good stuff (w/scorch) @ around 25-35km...
so based on this, and how nice an amrageddon can be.. wud a bhaalgorn be able to go it alone, with a standard 2xEANM/3trimarks/1plate/damage control..
also how come there isn't more of these about?

Bhaalgorn is one of the greatest pvp battleships there is. Just a bit pricy for most.

The bhaalgorn is very effective but it's not something I recommend using. The reason is nothing draws SC hotdrops like pirate BS's. If you're in high sec I guess it could work decently, but in low or null it's a bad idea in my experience. And like any other armor tanked BS's, it isn't quick enough to escape when it happens. The only pirate BS that I've seen used extensively in pvp is the machariel and that's because it's faster than most HAC's. You simply can't hotdrop it.

Going by the Jita and Amarr prices and getting my own yesterday, the Bhaalgorn is the most expensive pirate battleship in the game and for good reason.
Never have I spent so much isk on a single ship. -------------------------------------------------- I am the Love Angel, Wedding Peach, and I am very displeased by your lack of love! |

Edited by: eek amouse on 16/07/2011 03:35:48 its bonuses are out of control, but just like any other BS, it's a sitting duck for any organized small gang if it's not in a proper fleet/gang itself. |

Does somebody know how to fly it leach style? I lost a neut domi to bhaal last day, he had NOS instead of neut and active tank.... WTF moment of the month ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |

It makes sense to put at least 1 NOS the Bhaalgorn. My guess is he was flying 2 neuts, 1 nos, 4 mega pulses, and an active tank accompanied by a cap booster. He realized you were a neut domi and just stopped neuting so he could nos you and kill you. There is no reason to neut a domi unless it's active tanked, since nothing else uses cap (except blasters, but they do rather poor dps on a domi, and there is no reason that the bhaalgorn wouldn't be kiting you with it's range bonused webs) and if it's a neuting domi that's plated, you can be sure the domi will just cap boost and then neut you, and you are basically neuting him when he has 0 cap--so it's pointless.

your on a crusade, aren't you? while matar skills are required and provide the web bonus, the blood lineup has none of the matar main strengths, namely speed and projectiles.
Still those flying bricks work beautifully because of the excellent ewar couple. I dare say, most players that like the blobs will tell you, that the bhaal is much more useful than a mach. it heavily depends on your play-style. |
