[The Ni-Kunni] were a primitive race conquered some 1000 years ago by the Amarr Empire. Unlike the other races conquered by the Amarrians, the Ni-Kunnis adapted to the Amarr society much better and today only a small minority is still enslaved. Most Ni-Kunnis are tradesmen and artisans - occupations frequently frowned upon by Amarrians, but still a vital part of their society

Females have an enticing and enchanting demeanor. Before becoming part of the Amarr Empire, the Ni-Kunnis had a polygamous society. Although this practice has long been abolished, it still lingers in relations between Ni-Kunni males and females. Beneath their meek manners Ni-Kunni women are just as smart and devious as their male counterparts.

Males are sly, cunning, and unscrupulous. The only way for a Ni-Kunni male to advance up the rigid Amarrian social ladder is by amassing great wealth, so most Ni-Kunni males are very conscious of making a healthy profit, but this does not necessarily make them greedy.

Katrina Ataru is the daughter of a prominent researcher for an Ni-Kunni subsidiary. She grew up never knowing her father, an Amarrian theologian and medical researcher. She met him during her last year at the Science and Trade Institute at the Hedion University on Amarr Prime where she was studying laboratory management.

Upon graduation from the Science and Trade Institute, KAtrina began working for Technology Department at Hedion, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ni-Kunni Corporation. There she worked for two year as Head of Biological Research. After she received news of her father's death, she was able to convince her superiors to let her out of her two year contract early.

Joining the Order of the Blessed Sisters of Amarr, she began investigating her father's murder. Along the way she made many friends, Joelane Monthue, Mustafar Kintukhi and Tygarian Draconis one of whom suggested she join Abraxsys and continue her research.
