Anyone know how long it will be down? I use it extensively for my mission running. Can't seem to find any info about it's outage. Anyone know anything?

It has been down for at least 2 days. Also the link you provided to that site has not been updated since 2008. So not much of a mirror.....

Gotta love DDOS, I wonder what strange logic the botters have in thinking it eliminates competition or something.

All of them, probably. An alt of mine dropped Chepe Nolon a note; he's aware of the outage, but has to wait for the host to do something, which may take quite some time apparently.

Quite a few of them seem to be cached. I went through a ton of pages yesterday looking for a L4 I had and found it cached. No pretty formatting, but the info was there.
Hope they get everything sorted out. Eve-Survival is a jewel that the Eve community treasures.

As a workaround I'm using http://eve.nikr.net/missions/level4 to find a mission's URL, then googling the URL and viewing google's cached copy. -- The Door! |

I have not seen any evidence of a DDOS. I think your tongue is dragging the dirty floor.

Edited by: Barakkus on 18/07/2011 21:36:08 I actually made a complete copy (I think) of the site just a few months ago for just such an occasion using an old copy of Teleport Pro
You can use the mirror here: http://www.randomhost.org/evesurvival/
If you want to download the mirror you can download it here: http://www.randomhost.org/evesurvival.zip The mirror will work on your computer in a browser just as if you were viewing it online if you would like your own offline copy of the site.
Your best bet is to download the zip file...I don't have all that much bandwidth, so don't be surprised if I take the functioning mirror down at some point, I'll leave the zip file up though for a while. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

omg i believe missions would be unplayable/unbeatable when there's nobody holding the hands of missioners and guides them through ...........
No way that should happen !

Edited by: Marcus Aurelijus on 18/07/2011 22:46:01 Well, thanks for that.
Yes, (us) vets prolly know most level 4's by heart and even if not have the ships to pull it off. Most relatively new players however will lose ships if they cannot check up on the mission.
lotsa ship losses makes disheartened newbies. And whether you are a real sensitive guy that cares for them or a big bad pwiwate losing players that way is prolly...bad.
So, good job!

You're a vet. Aha. Who gives a **** ?
You believe people should have guides to run missions, holding their hands, helping them through, instead of experiencing them and finding out how to beat them themselves ?

It seems my little program doesn't do CSS b/c it's so old, getting a bunch of 404s on the wikka.css-a8278 CSS file from eve survival in my IDS system for my web server. Probably should get the upgrade at some point when I have an extra $50 laying around.

Spoiled or not, I appreciate having eve-survival.org available as a reference. The collaboration amongst mission runners when CCP makes announced and unannounced changes is very helpful. This is the perfect complementary tool for a MMO.

And another side note, I usually turn that server off btwn 11pm and 12am CST, so if it's down, it will be back up about the time TQ reboots in the morning for daily downtime. I'll leave it running 24 hours for a few days though.
I downloaded your zip and uploaded it to my server. Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue.
