after all the aggro caused by NeX etc what is the point in this advert ccp?
NO-ONE can see me in game so what is the point of even doing this,
i mean surely no one would be stupid enough to buy this stuff to look at themselves

i doubt anyone will care what eachother looks like, even when we eventually get to see eachother

I wouldnt be that sure.
While I didnt buy anything from the NeX store, I found I actually do recustomize my characters a whole lot since Incarna.
I'd assume that when we can finally walk around in the stations, you'll have quite many people that dont want to walk around like everyone does.
On that note, it probably wouldnt be the worst idea to release limited edition items in the store. If I buy a skirt that costs more than an aircraft carrier, I'd expect that it has some kind of exclusivity.

Ah, publicity... inviting us to buy something we can't afford, to pose our toons in a way we can't, in order to impress someone albeit we are alone in our CQ...
So the only thing true in the ad is the name of the store.

I bought stuff from NeX to impress my girlfriend when she`s coming over so that she can see I`m a big shot on the internets. Ohh wait I don`t have a girlfriend...

Well how many people selected randomize when changed there portrait ?
I am sure there are just as many that spent hours redoing theirs.
And I am sure there is a huge bunch that went somewhere between.
The point being is if someone spent hours, it wouldn't be much of a leap to get some clothes for all that work.
Then again being a clothes horse is not gender specific.
I would be shocked if nobody bought anything.

I am with the OP, exactly who are we suppose to dress to impress when CCP cannot even get WIS into the game. Hell we're still waiting for the other CQ's to be added and as it stand right now I doubt they'll get into the game this year at all. Until we players can interact with one another in stations this NEX add is nothing more than CCP trolling its own player base.
Which brings me to - who the fu.ck is in charge of marketing for CCP, because they really suck at their jobs.

I'm all for hand held mirrors going on sale. Its hard as hell to shave the old coin purse behinding over to use the present mirror. While no sacrafice is to much for fashion a hand held mirror would improve game safety- no nicks on the man purse.

its more the timing of the advert that annoys me, if the Wis was up and running then maybe just maybe it would be ok.
after the mocking CCP has taken about prices of things,and the main eve userbase saying they aint interested in this NeX crap ccp listen to what we say and then decide a NeX advert is just what we need
i will 100% promise you CCP i will never ever put any real money into eve ever again regardless of what its for,
