Well I am outta here. Ive had it with all the bugs and the attitude of CCP's customer service. Ive been hunting pirates in the same system for a week and a half and today my ship developed the CAP bug where it would not recharge. So I lost my Moa. No way in hell I should have lost that ship. I am not about to send a petition in because I already know there policy of NO replacements due to combat or bugs. So I wish you all the best of luck with Eve.

Sad to see you leave Eve man. I think I'm going to hang around for a bit just to see how things turn out with Stations, Events, and the Jove (assuming, of course, CCP ever deems those things worthy of implementing ;)). --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

If this would happen to me, I would do a petition about that. And if they would refuse to reimburse me, I'd quit also. Stupid enough, that the game has a lot of CTDs (no hardware, driver problems discussions please).
Did you manage to make a screenshot or something? ---

Well, I've known kane a bit, he was in my corp a while ago..
bad to see another player leave.. but ccp really should have some sort of policy towards bugs and the loss of ships, etc.. not just say 'sorry, no can do' everytime _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. I know of several people who have gotten their ship reimbursed after a bug, so claiming that it never happens is just not true.

Sucks to die over any kinda bug. I think if you die due to a bug then they should give you a type of character rollback. If not a rollback then they should give you back anything you lost. Only if it's proven to be a bug that caused you to die. -- Telon |

All you Eve fanbois and girls shouldn't be so quick to yell good riddence. This game will only survive on a large fan base and as it is it seems to be dwindling thanks to CCPs ignorance in the customer service arena. I just found out yesterday that CCP laid off five people. Sounds like this game is heading out to pasture unless they do something soon.

I empathise with your experience and I'm sorry to see you leave.
I have avoided combat since Eve began because of the horror stories I've read about the bugs in Eve killing people; in my opinion, Eve is not yet sufficiently bug free and stable for combat to be safe, in the sense that the only significant risks you take are those you can anticipiate and prepare for.
For example, today I took out an NPC convoy near a station. The sentry guns opened up. No big deal - they don't do that much damage to a big cruiser - but by the time I finished the final indi my shields were gone and I was loosing some armour, so I needed to dock or leave.
For whatever reason, the popup menu over the station would not come up.
Accordingly, I warped out of there.
This was actually unwise of me; I should have opened up some distance from the station first.
As it was, I was close to the station and lucky not to get hung up warping.
If I had, I would have died from the sentry guns, a victim of the wierd getting-stuck-in-a-station-while-warping behaviour.
So even attacking NPC convoys in the wrong situation is fraught with risk from the issues in the game rather than the combat itself.

Well I would like to say that I am no carebear and I have no problems losing my ship to combat! Losing my ship to a known bug is another story all together. I didnt bother to petition because I know CCP's stance on bug and combat related reimbursements so I didnt want to waste mine and the GM's time. Ive been in Eve since Beta 4 so I knew what I was doing there. Ive lost many ships but never to a bug as frustrating as the one today. Several of my Corp mates have had the same bugs. Luckily, they had backup close by to aid them in surviveing. I had no such backup. I suppose I should have worded my good bye better. I was honestly just trying to say good bye to all the people Ive known and played with during my time in Eve. Instead, I started a flamefest for the teenagers.
Sorry I bothered.

I feel for you man...the Customer Service is an utter joke in this game so far. Do the GM's actually do anything besides move stuck people and reply to petitions for ships lost to crash/node drop with a lame copy/paste reply? A lot of people will flame you for bringing up your troubles simply because THEY haven't had to deal with the incompetent and uncaring CS.

I've had the cap bug too, but thankfully, out of the several times it has happened, only two were during combat. Both times I nearly lost my ship, too. Luckily I managed to squeak out in time.
It does need some looking at.
As to whether you can get your ship back, that is down to the logging, and whether they can prove that it happened like you said. If there is no way of logging such an incident, then chances are you will not be given a ship.
Sadly, as in most games, services and suchlike have to looked at, not from the average players point of view, but from the exploiter/griefer point of view. This means restrictions on what Mr. Average can do, to make sure Mr. Griefer can't do what *he* wants to do.
It truly is a shame.
and sorry to see you go. .

I keep getting this feeling that despite the fact I'm determined to wait and see what this game becomes, by the time the new content and systems and so forth are added, there'll be so few players left we'll need to petition CCP to make the EVE galaxy smaller....
Sad to see another player leave - I really think it will affect all of us in the long run. :(

Player counts down!, dont think so...
When i started playing there were 2000 ish players on line at the same time as me, last 2 weeks it has gone from around 4000 ish to nearly 6500 last night.

Hmmm, you based in the US Beo? Genuinely glad its still growing over there if you are.
The UK seemed to peak at just over 6k a couple of weeks ago but now rarely gets above the late 5k's .
Either way the user base growth can't be at the rate that either we(the players) or them (CCP) would have wanted.

... oh be sure they don't care ... if you loose your ship because of a bug or an exploit.
SO ONLY CONCLUSE IS ...
FIND THE BUGS AND EXPLOITS FAST and make your advantage of it ... OR YOU ARE THE STUPID As..... in the game.
So like me I will never use such things, so I will have to quit or live with it ...
I don't have considered yet ...
PS: Lost my ship to a pk ... he had 4 turrets firing and they have made 300-600 damage each, while I would have done 50-100 damage in my MOA with medium Hybrid Weapons ... okay they say now after the patch it is gone.
BUT I AM SURE THE PLAYER PIRATES WILL FIND A NEW ONE and will shoot me out once again from the sky.
AND CCP WILL once again not replace whyt you have lost ...
and don't tell me to send in prove ... of course I will make a screen copy when the damage pops up AND I TRY TO ESCAPE with my ship. Sure and not to forget to copy the log file before it is cleared, when you jump to the other system. Sure next time I will do all that things, after the first shot is heared. ... it is fun for a single player to loose 5millions in 10sec because of that. Hope CCP will loose also in the long term, if they let cheaters take over the game. THX for reading

'Good another winger gone!'
Did you mean whinger? Don't know myself if the guy was a Ryan Giggs wannabe. Please grow up Beowolf. The guy has a very valid issue.
Lets have a reality check. Anyone care to disagree that CCP's customer service level is "less than good" ? Everyone playing this game is a customer. Customers have a right to expect good service. They also have a right to a relatively bug-free game. Where will Eve be without the paying public? If people leave in their droves due to substandard/unsympathetic service where will Eve be in 6 months time? (I could also add broken promises on a daily basis re "sheduled downtime" and also content that was promised "within two weeks" a month ago by the resident Iraqi Information Minister which is seriously starting to grate a lot of the guys because of failure to deliver).
Look at the server population stats at ICOM. I for one don't know if CCP wanted the game to max out at 6k users online. All I know is there has been zero growth (Peak was 22nd June) after a couple of rave reviews in high profile gaming magazines. If that doesnt scare you it should. One thing CCP need to learn very quickly is to look after the customers it has - and get their confidence back asap.
I always though GOA (DaoC-Europe) were streets ahead of everyone else in terms of failure to deliver, but unless CCP change their attitude it wonĘt be long before they are right up there alongside them. Look after your customers and they will bring their friends, CCP - donĘt and you wonĘt see the growth (that means $$$ to you guys, btw) which is what we that love the game all want. EVE will end up with a few hardcore players - myself included. I can handle the bugs and just ignore all the smoke blown up my behind...because I do see great long term potential, but only if there are enough players left standing to make it happen. And right now I'm not that confident there will be unless CCP start showing a bit more consideration in a lot of areas.

Im also a beta 4 player considering quitting because of the frankly appalling CS attitudes ive come across.
As a member of m0o Ive ACTUALLY had GMs tell me that my bug problems are less valid because Im a PKer!!! Does noone else see the insanity of that? The other reason id leave is CCPs pandering to carebearz, after this patch, nonsonsensual combat will be more or less a thing of the past (wahey, I have to hope you cant get to the jumpgate in the 8mins it takes me to kill you, and I need 2 entire cruisers to have enough cap to keep you scrambled and double webified for that time). Pann is a prime example as she wants all m0o members banned, with or without proof of exploitation (does this include me? a reletively new member?).
When the time comes for those with 3month subscriptions to renew, I think we are going to see a substantial drop in numbers. In 6months time I think 2000 players on at once will be rare.
The solution to this should involve better comparmentalising of space, using sec ratings. ATM the only reason people go to 0.0 space is for mining, but HUGE profit (400% return +) runs should be created into 0.0 space as well giving us pirates a chance to rollplay.
