The Portal 2 Soundtrack (which is free, btw), is all music that sounds a lot like the built in jukebox music (though better).

El Cant de Sabil-La (http://www.amazon.com/El-Cant-Sibil--Hybrid-SACD/dp/B0002XNM64/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1310930157&sr=1-1)
Quite appropriate if you're Amarr/Khanid, and it's just really quite nice ambient early music. Then again, I'm a bit crazy like that.

Most appropriate music would be an assortment of classical solo pieces played on the world's smallest violin. --------

ingame music works great i think everyone miss judges the ingame music of games, and ignores the fact that if you really listen to it. you will notice that it will fit the theme of what you are doing, or fit the theme of the game in general cant stand listening to any music but in game draws me out of the game if i do.

It's great, but I have been listening to it off and on since 2006. ~~~

I mostly listen to the original soundtrack, but not when I am busy in serious customizing of a character. Then I mute EVE and play something like this in the background:
Khetzal - Listening winds
Or something like this:
Gandalf - Just a heartbeat away
But when I feel like it's time to roleplay a Khanid slave master, it's in time for this greatness:
Dead can dance - Saldek
This exact clip, extended, as the original song is a mere 1:08 long.
@the one who listens to the Cant de la sibil+la: it's good choice, but you should really go and listen to this rendition by Rosa Zaragoza:
Rosa Zaragoza - El cant de la sibil+la (traditional, 16th century)
She sings it a capella, and it has all the terrible beauty it must have (it's about the End of Days), specially if you speak Catalan and understand the lyrics... "a great fire will come down from heavens / deep sea and rivers, all will be burned (out) / Fishes will shout out loudly / having lost their natural pleasures..." These lines bring tears to my eyes each time I listen to them...

I'm not too keen on solo a capella music. I think the human voice is beautiful, but lends itself well to other voices (human and instrumental). I haven't heard that rendition, I'm downloading it from Amazon as I type this, as it does sound quite nice. I'm a musician myself (treble vielle, rebec, hummelchen) so I have a particular love for instrumentation.

There's a couple of ensembles that use hummelchens regularly. One of my favorites is Piffaro. On its own, the hummelchen is a rather irritating instrument (and that's speaking as someone who has played for a decade), but works so well with all types of viols or other hummelchens. My favorite bagpipe to play isn't mine, unfortunately. We referred to it as "The Big D". Pitched at D above middle C, scaled to D-minor, with a drone that was almost as long as I am tall. It was a conical-bore (Rather than the cylindrical bore of the hummelchen and other smallpipes) so it had a bit of volume on its side. I miss that set.

Rettic has made some fantastic music for EVE. There are race specific and situation specific tracks. I usually play through this soundtrack in addition to the in-game music. Helps with the immersion. :)
The tracks are available at http://rettic.com/ ----

Just got Tron: Legacy Reconfigured - the remix album. It's nowhere near as good in my opinion, but the original Tron: Legacy Daft Punk score just keeps getting better every time I play it. -- The Door! |

Anything post-rock really, in particular; Explosions in the sky, God is an Astronaut and If These Trees Could Talk, the atmospheric feel to the music oddly fits EVE, a game set in space....where there is no atmosphere. _______________________________________________
