Quote: The influx of players brought light to a lot of glitches, imbalances and dysfunctional mechanisms in the game, so instead of rushing forward and pushing out new features in the next weeks, we are taking a step back and making everything that is available in the game better. All of these features are subject to change, but their purpose and outlines are quite clear. Behold, in the specific order of release:

Part of me wants this to be more than damage control or a PR move. This and the recent CCP Soundwave interview Click it, you know you want to:) makes me want to believe, but there is still a part of me that is holding back until I see what is coming.

CCP is doing the same thing, just in a long larger time frame. Their "take a step back and fix things" is gonna be all around this winter cause Incarna is supposed to be the source of "influx of new players".
Soundwave's interview showed us glimpses of that with the talk of the 0.0 changes they had the the dedication ship rebalenceing more often.

Yeah... I'm sure they gonna take a step back and look at things. Fix things? Actions speak louder than words.
I've subbed for Perpetuum for one month. Seems too much like EVE for my comfort. Makes me feel like I'm cheating on my woman with her sister.
Other words I feel like maybe there is a relation there. Too many things are alike and I'm voting with my wallet by leaving EVE and want to make sure my money isn't still going to people I feel have betrayed a community I come to love.
So... when the subs run out on EVE and Perp so will I.

Like Hilmar said, at this point we look more at actions than words. CCP says roughly ones a year this.

Posting in a perpetuum thread.
OP graphically Illustrates the crucial edge CCP have lost in terms of customer engagement. yes, customer. People who pay the bills.
CCP, take a step back back. Breathe. Fix your broken ****. Then Be honest and upfront about your broken **** and ask the community to forgive you.
Its a million to one chance, but it might just work.

This is a new company with developers in control of thier game and playing characters at all lvls of the game. I don't think you can compare CCP with these people. The control of Eve has shifted away from the devs and thier visions imo. I can only speak for myself but i now sub to perpetuum and not Eve. I biomassed 2 accounts after enough time went by for me to feel the recent changes are perminent. Whining on forums won't get back the old eve and enough of the "new generation eveplayers" will replace us. If you still hope for the old eve i'd think that "Dress to Impress" would have been like having turd rubbed in your face by Hilmer., should be enough for any final decision.

You cant please all the people all the time, but you should do your best to try please the most you can. Ive seen very few threads demanding more content. Ill leave it to an Important Person to count the threads demanding a fix to broken mechanics/gameplay/lore/application of skills/current direction of CCP.
Please post your count when your done. Only if your an important person ofc.

If they fix hybrids...then I'm good. Give them a little bit more damage and better falloff hit chance. Don't really play with anything BS and above. Make the Ferox relevant. Make Caldari(this is not including Drake) ships more viable for PvP. ================================================= What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right. |

So 50 new trial users just ruined their bugged server and delayed patch deployment? Incompetent developers and ****ty game. Also reported thread as another PO advert. If you like it so muth then go and play it and stop spreading this **** on EVE forums.

You do realize that EVE was genuine, right? The main difference between EVE and PO is the WASD situation. Everything else is a copy/paste from EVE. But this isn't a bad thing per se, I'd totally play an EVE+WASD game, the problem is that PO lacks its own criteria and identity.
I could perfectly imagine PO's Devs checking EVE's forum and dev blog seeking what to do next.

Like everything since i started playing, CCP pats themselves on the back about excellance, but what they deliver is trash. Till I see it, and is confirmed by the major portion of the pvp communitee, not including the CSM. I will believe it.

19 November 2010 - Early Launch Success
Quote: We're very happy to announce that the Early Access launch went perfectly according to schedule and a lot smoother than anyone had hoped. Our user peak was at 587 players online at the same time, which is more than twice of the peak during even the Open Beta.
8 months later - 17 July 2011 - Peak Online 640 players - Great Sucess!
EVE - 25 January 2004 six month after release - 6446 Users online

I wonder if CCP believe the players are customers anymore and just think of us as resources to be farmed instead.

You must not be looking very hard if you see very few threads demanding more content. The "when was the last expansion that actually delivered real content?" comments are almost as common as the "fix this" comments. As for fixing lore threads, those are usually just disguised tears. Few Eve players know what role playing really is; even fewer actually practice it in game. |

Honestly there's a ton of existing content in Eve that could be properly fleshed out. That would be a far bigger improvement than throwing out more stuff so hopefully they'll do more than a token improvement.
