Edited by: Miilla on 17/07/2011 23:25:02 Go here https://api.eveonline.com/eve/RefTypes.xml.aspx
And check for the following refTypeID (Wallet journal ID's)
<row refTypeID="90" refTypeName="DNA Modification Fee"/> <row refTypeID="100" refTypeName="Minigame Betting"/> <row refTypeID="104" refTypeName="Minigame Buy-In"/>
The following also seem newly added (note the higher refTypeID range).
<row refTypeID="10001" refTypeName="Modify ISK"/> <row refTypeID="10002" refTypeName="Primary Marketplace Purchase"/> <row refTypeID="10003" refTypeName="Battle Reward"/> <row refTypeID="10004" refTypeName="New Character Starting Funds"/> <row refTypeID="10005" refTypeName="Corporation Account Withdrawal"/> <row refTypeID="10006" refTypeName="Corporation Account Deposit"/> <row refTypeID="10007" refTypeName="Battle WP Win Reward"/> <row refTypeID="10008" refTypeName="Battle WP Loss Reward"/> <row refTypeID="10009" refTypeName="Battle Win Reward"/> <row refTypeID="10010" refTypeName="Battle Loss Reward"/> <row refTypeID="11001" refTypeName="Modify uPLEX"/> <-- uPLEX? MicroPLEX? <row refTypeID="11002" refTypeName="Respec payment"/> <-- Respec ( NEURAL REMAPS) PAYMENTS.
Somebody care to ponder an explination of these refTypeID's?

This is API related. Everyone knows that the API only provides updated information about your character (ISK, assets, character names, locations, clones, etc.). In no way do they ever affect your your assets, clones, ISK, skill levels, etc. unless you are reading these stats from something like Evemon, or EFT.

Actually as a developer I would like to know the purpose of these refTypeID's so my app's can make sense of them in a good way.
Anybody have any info on the purpose of these refTypeID's please Somebody with a brain please.

I guess it would've been a lot easier to point yourself out as a developer earlier rather than a random poster. Had I known that you were a developer, I wouldn't have posted that comment.

I never claimed to be the know-it-all sort and I was just repeating what most people should know by now. Now, someone please answer this dude's question. I got an Orca to wax here.
EDIT:
My first post was just out of pure habit. I have had to explain so many mundane things to new players repeatedly, it's just become second nature to just post what everyone already knows whenever someone asks a question about something (it's become a bad habit now - as you just noticed).

Some of those really low refTypeIDs were probably during initial planning stages, even before beta, maybe back to 2001 or so, for things that were never included or implemented.
The "DNA Modification Fee" sounds like it might have went with the old "Genetic Engineering" skill which was eventually removed.
The "ATM" ones have an even lower ID and are probably from an even earlier stage in development of the game.
Just my guess on these things and I'm not CCP.

And to the Gerald guy, why would a non-developer download the EVE API and try to do stuff with it?

Perhaps but the ID range while understandably intreperted that way does not always provide a "chronological age" of the refTypeID, if anybody has a history of these from release to release then we can see them move about.
Any developer has a history of these types? I might start saving them each patch out of curiosity.

Yes, ususally the pattern I have seen with CCP and code in general is types/enum values are usually shipped out before they are actually used as most companies are scared to remove even a single line come release phase. I have even been on teams in a seperate branch that integrates with a product main line branch and thus we have had other teams add types for some reason or other but not actually been in the main release, but our stuff still got in that branch oddly enough.
Originally by: AnzacPaul some interesting stuff there, im guessing some of it is pretty straightforward, but the "respec payment" one is a little strange.

Yeah that's the one that got my eye, it could date back from when the PLEX for remaps was being considered ( and most likely worked on in a seperate branch )..
We do know that AUR for Remap's is comming so they will be using this refTypeID most likely.
The ATM one's actually do match up with the fearless newsletter commenting on the currency life-cycle they had in mind. A lot of this could be from a vision from the early days and comming to fruitition now, but I don't remember that one in earlier patches when I checked the refTypeID's.
The betting/minigame is new (an few patches ago it was added I believe), even though it has an earlier ID, again ID's do not mean chronological age.

I am starting to save each ref type and ID between patch/expansions now so I can see what changes and when.

ATM and Backwards Compatible are legacy iirc and no longer used. Perhaps it was included a long time ago for some content that never came to fruition?
Inheritance is the 10k ISK (or whatever it is) that all new players start with. Advertisement is the fees associated with creating a corp advert for recruitment in game.

It is when CCP said in an "interview" to the press after the CSM meeting. This was covered in other threads but I don't have a link handy or the quote handy at the minute.
They tried to push this before as PLEX for remaps, that failed, now it will be AUR for remaps.

Wow this one is way out there... Maybe they originally thought about players having both bank accounts and ISK on hand. You have to drag your cash around with you and you lose it if you get podded. Good incentive to put it in a bank and withdraw elsewhere... except you get hit with a 2% withdrawal fee. I'm sure it was part of an ISK sink brainstorm session.

Because it has 2 purposes, one to bring it to non-developer's attention, the players and also to get some input from people who would maybe know what the purpose of some of the ID's where/are.
As for uPLEX, when you use a PLEX for anything in Eve, has that ever shown up in your journal, Im guessing NO, because that is not what it is for.
The ATM ones match up for what I read in the newsletter. Other people missed what it meant in the currencly life cycle, I called it out during the huff puff threadfest about the leak, but they didn't quite get it or read it the same way. Well, it makes perfect sense if you think about it for a bit.
