Pemdas only helps you remember that for example parenthesis ranks higher than exponents etc not that multiplication comes before division (Multiplicative Inverse Property) and shame that most teachers these days do not explain how precedence affects the order therefore 48˜2(9+3) 48/212 24*12 288

Not correct, maths only have one language, but many solutions that all conclude in the same result, and yes it doesn't fit here :) 48/2(9+3) = 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = 24 * 12 = 288 or 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = (48*12)/2 = 576/2 = 288
