Depends how you solve it but the ambiguous fractions don't help. Therefore the best possible answer is that this is not relevant to eve online and is reported. ~~~

Common mistake but wrong Divide and Multiply have equal precedence (and go left to right). Pemdas only helps you remember that for example parenthesis ranks higher than exponents etc not that multiplication comes before division (Multiplicative Inverse Property) and shame that most teachers these days do not explain how precedence affects the order
therefore
48˜2(9+3) 48/2*12 24*12 288

Wrong
48/2(9+3) 48/2*12 Multiplication goes left to right so it becomes 48/2 = 24 then 24*12=288

Not correct, maths only have one language, but many solutions that all conclude in the same result, and yes it doesn't fit here :)
48/2(9+3) = 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = 24 * 12 = 288
or 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = (48*12)/2 = 576/2 = 288

Never heard of BODMAS :P
Brackets first (9+3)=12
<Ignore O, guess it is there to make it sound like a word>
Division 48/2=24
Multiplication 24*12=144*2=288 <-- I work out things 'different' to the way others do, it is still correct but yeh 288 would do, 2^2 = 4 etc .

As so many have hinted at: division is NOT associative, so order of operations between multiplication and division is important. ----------

...given that EVE is for us computer nerds, let's see:

The answer is zero.

48/2(9+3) = 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = 24 * 12 = 288
or 48/2 * (9+3)/1 = (48*12)/2 = 576/2 = 288
once again the answer is both, if you honestly think its just 288 you're a moron and you just got trolled /facepalm. once again its a LANGUAGE problem, there are multiple means to doing order of operation and depending on how you do it there are TWO answers, the question is how the OP wants it answered and in either case he wouldn't care cause hes just trolling

The problem turns into
(48 ˜ 2) * (9 + 3)
So the answer is indeed 288. When you have division, you immediately create brackets because it is not 48/(2(9+3)).

Both would be incredibly confusing and crash us into the sun eventually.... therefore, both is NOT the correct answer.
consider that 48/2(9+3) != 48/(2*9+3) and you should see that there is ONE answer.
