I am looking for a setup for a prophecy that can do every lvl 3 mission for the amarr navy agents. I dont have hull upgrades 5 so no low slot items that need that and no tech 2 guns either. If you can give me a setup with normal guns but tech 2 other stuff as thats easier to buy. Thanks alot and also id like advice on whether the prophecy is a good choice.

there are several solutions....
high: small guns (medium pulse lasers) or focused pulses and/or a nos meds: web, ab/med, cap rech low: typical and topical tank design (2x hards and repairer) and cap relays or stuff to fit the others (rcu, pds or co-procs)
the lvl3 missions are fairly easy.
NOTE: in lows i dont know if you could use a 3rd hardener, only testing the setup with say the final truth

I use;
6 Heavy Pulse Lasers (multi, radio & xray crystals in cargo), xr-3200 heavy launcher AB II, 2 x Cap II's Medium armor repair 2, 2 hardners, heat sink 2, PDU, Cap relay
Im not saying that can do EVERY mission but its pretty good. I personally use a maller for most of the missions with a duramaller setup - seems to do well. Only bring the prophecy or apoc out if im expecting trouble.

hmm so it still cant do every mission? is the only way to get every mission done to get a bs?

Well it might be able to - its just ive not done every mission in only the prophecy 
You need to have drones and a launcher on though as the level 3 viral agent one can be a pig as they have fast dudes that shoot out of your optimal gun range quite quickly (well depends on skills i guess).
As for the BS - i wouldnt do ALL missions in one of them either. I personally change ships for each mission i get so i sometimes use an assault frig, cruiser, battlecruiser or battleship depending on how tough i think it is or what kinda mood im in.

With modest skills and a Prophecy I am able to manage almost all lvl3 missions with some care.
Mordus: Drop standoff waypoints at 60 that you can warp back to once you run away.
Pirate Extrav: Harden vs. your foe, put assault missile bays on with defenders for heavy missile users.
Silence The Informant: Get a BS.
Rogue Drone Infestation: Stage 1 use hardners, repair, & defenders. Stage 2 rekit with more hardeners and another repairer, use heavy missiles.
Everything else... pretty much a cakewalk in a Proph.

Highs: 4 named beams, named heavy launcher, small named or techII pulse and a medium nos. Meds: 10MN AB tech II, 2 cap rechager named or tech II Lows: 1 med tech II armor repair, 2 hardener(aktiv), 2 cap power relays and a named or tech II all type-armor hardener.
u can solve any level 3 mission without gettin in trouble. try to keep range around 40km if possible by using afterburner and then fire with radios. for those nme`s too close for hitting with ur beams, use drones and small laser + missile launcher.

A Prophecy can easily do all of the level 3 missions if you invest a lot of isk in your mods. If you do not wish to invest a ton of cash in a BC then I would suggest looking for another choice in a ship.
On an ending note, drones are your best, best buds with this ship. So be sure to train up your drone skills.

The easiest BC to use in level 3 missions would have to be the Ferox. Just think of it as a baby Raven.
You can easily make your own heavy missiles with refined rat loot, and moderate missile mods are not overly costy.

I loved my geddon - going to build another one i think. Its a mental ganking ship but for anything that comes in close you would have to put a large smart bomb or something on there. IIRC it has a good drone bay so you could use that to your advantage.
Best thing to do is insure your BC and then start doing missions.... if you loose it then you buy another one. As long as you dont cram it full of named stuff that costs more than the ship.
I was doing level 3 missions all day yesderday (took day off work... looked too cold out!) and i was doing most of them in a maller.

6x heavy pulse and a webber is the only choice for a (PvE) prophecy, anything else is just wrong.

Using a Battleship for Level 3 missions is just wrong imo.
I have no trouble completing any Level 3 missions in a prophecy, you just have to pick the targets carefully.
If I remember correctly: High: 6 Heavy Pulse & Heavy Launcher Med: 10mn AB, Webby & Cap rechrger Low: 3xArmor Hardners (mission specific), Med Armor Repairer & 2xCap Relays
Use Radio crystals @ +40km to pick off the frigs then switch to multi's get in close with the webby and wipe out the cruisers etc.
If the frigs get in close, use the webby with drones & missles (they don't last long).
But if anyone else can suggest any other setup that works please feel free to correct me.

You can just use a cruiser to do the lvl 3 missions. I use a thorax and although it is a challenge and u need to warp out on occasion you can still complete them. Much more fun

k im gonna use a prophecy with the pulse and heavy launcher. What type of drones should I take for the mission? Also Im doing amarr agents so which type of missiles and hardeners do you suggest? Thanks alot. Also I dont need tech 2 mods do i?

Hammerheads or Valk??? whatever they are called - thats what i use. I run a thermal & kinetic hardner as EM and Explosive is mostly ok on the prophecy. If you can fit an explosive hardner too then your pretty much 60-70%+ resistance against everything.
I dont run tech 2 hardners, but i use tech 2 ab, heat sink etc etc.

I can do every lvl3 mission in my enyo (vs serpentis) and i think i have only failed one pirate extravaganza mission, (the old style b4 racial extravaganza's).
I use Blaster setups to kill things fast n switch to railguns when mission involves intys mwd'n 7.5km+ away as i cant use a webber as yet.

Hi: 6 med pulse lasers (named or t2 if possible) and MW crystal for 17km max range, 1 med smart bomb Med: 10mn AB II, 2x large peroxide cap batt Low: Med t2 rep, 2x hardener, 2 CPR Swap a CPR for third hardener on a hard merc mission like "silence the informant".
You can run everything but the smart bomb forever. If you get a lot of hull hugging fast things like rogue drones then you can stop, turn off the AB and turn on the smart bomb.
I was working for caldari on mostly guristas but this setup only failed me once: I could tank the 1.5M BS I got on an important mission, but I couldn't break it's tank. Other than that I never had to warp out once getting to 6.7 standing.
I think the short range of the guns could be a problem vs. Minmatar ships that are faster than you and want to orbit outside ~20km and which your valkyries can't break the tank on. -------------------- This area is a Sun-Tzu-Quote- and Dead-Language-Free Zone. |

Highs: 6 medium pulse(named/t2), heavy launcher(named) Mids: 10ab(named/t2), fleeting web, large peroxide cap batt Lows: t2 medium armor rep, 2*hardeners(n-type), 1600 plate(nanofiber for less speed loss), 2*cpr
or: I haven't used the Prophecy for a while but my last high end lvl3 mission setup was:
Highs: 2 hvy pulse(modulated), 4 focused pulse(modulated), heavy launcher(arb) Mids: 10ab-2, fleeting web, large peroxide cap batt Lows: t2 med armor rep, 3 hardeners(n-type), 2 cpr
all of which could be replaced by lower end stuff...
drones: i carried a mix of 2 em, 3 therm, 3 kin lights and 1 exp medium size since I can control 9 of em. works well against those fast close orbiting nuisance drones.
My setup above was used until up to about a month ago and never failed me on any lvl3 mission.
