Okay so is this my current ship setup for running missions
Level 1: Kestrel Level 2: Caracal Level 3: Drake Level 4: Navy Scorp
Now I know most people fly the CNR instead of the Navy Scorp. Am I really gimping myself by flying a scorp?
Most people say it does the same DPS as a regular raven but with a better tank and that the CNR is much better overall.
I would like to know what your thoughts on the Navy Scorp are from any personal experiences and how you felt the CNR compared.
Also any long term improvements on my level 1-3 ships would be great. Such as the hawk or the hookbill for level 1's. :)
Heres a template :p
Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: The entire British Empire was founded on cups of tea... and if you think I'm going to war without one, mate... you're sadly mistaken |

Level 1: Any ship that can mount 1 weapon. The missile-inty is ok i guess Level 2: You won't find much better than caracal, especially if money efficiency is in the equation. Level 3: Drake. Tengu / Nighthawk are better, but not by much for blitzing l3s. Level 4: CNR / Tengu / Gila / ...
The Navy Scorp looks good but that's it. It DOES have the dps of a Raven : same # of launchers, of low slots for BCUs, same DPS bonus. You can field more tank or Ewar (useless in pve) but that's it. Here are a few reasons to fly it : -You often do your l4 in small fleets. Ppl in your fleet might not be able to tank so you have to take full-room aggro on every mission. The Raven can do this too but it's tight on some occasions. -You consider going to some plexes / WH where the added tank will be useful -Really, it looks way better than the (CN)Raven.
Here is a horribly wrong reason to fly it : my skills suck too much to do L4s in a Raven, but I sold some plexes and want to show off.

I tend to value defence over offence which was why i leaned more towards the scorp.. it has really nice range too.
I'm mainly a casual player so I'm not worried about what gives the most isk/hour just the fun of it. I tend to have more fun not when im not worrying about my shields and getting to focus on attack which is why i thought the scorp could be better. Both will tank any mission provided the fit is correct and triggers are managed. The CNR will do it slightly faster. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

If you don't want to bother with your shields, be aware the the SNI is still an active-tanked ship. With all those meds you can probably get a half-decent permarunning tank, but you'll be less effective than a Raven with X-Large booster.
The Rattlesnake might suit you best, though it requires more skills, and isk.

Casual player, non-rushed, easy-mode = Rattlesnake.
CNR = better DPS, more management
SNI = better tank than CNR, but more management as you are having to tank extra for the time delay in killing stuff.
