Don't know if this has been posted but;
Just seen an advert on the UK msn tech web site for the new Sony PS3 Compact version and in the bundle is included a copy of GÇÿEVE DustGÇÖ, the box picture was for the USA ($70 of savings seems to give it away  ).

Hi. The info I can search up on Google says that this will only be on a bundled edition of a 250GB console which costs twenty US more than usual. I can't find information on the DUST game actually being sold with the console, instead it says the console comes with a thirty-dollar AURUM voucher. Also the 250GB version is only being released in the 'States? :(
Is this correct? I got excited for a while but this version won't even be released in Australia |

Does the fact that Dust is bundled without the word 'Beta' strike anyone as significant? Coupled with news that the Drake Deception bundle with Dust 514 will launch on 25 Sep....

Why the hell do these systems come with AV cables. My car stereo in the 90's used AV cables. Everytime I buy a new console I have to through another set in drawer and go buy another HDMI cable. I through away a huge box of useless AV and coaxil cords 2 years ago. The damn drawer is full again!

They properly don't have disided about the amount they are going to give but it will be at least $30. It is probably going to depend on the $/aurum ratio and the final aurum pricing of items.

Umm because the fact that every single one of those consoles shipped is an easy way to try and entice people to play DUST is quite significant?
I'm an Xbox player myself, and that comes with a free crap game, everyone I know with an xbox played it even though its free to download. If the same happens with this (which I see no reason why not) pre-installing it on the hard drive means there will be thousands of people who will go "Well i might as well give it a try since its already installed" and then hopefully stick around to become proper long term Dust Bunnies.
You need to learn a bit about marketing and general social habits if you think it isn't significantly different to offer something for free and to offer it for free already installed so all you need to do is press a button. |

I would say that Inquisitor Kitchner has probably nailed it. The pre-install does not even have to be the release version, just a launcher which automatically downloads the latest build of Dust. Since Dust will have regular patches and regular expansions it will have to have a launcher that checks for updates anyway. |

Hes probably getting at the fact that now hes bought a play station and doesn't have a beta invite he will have to buy a merc pack to guarantee access to the beta.
If he had waited until this announcement he would have gotten access to the beta included with the purchase of the ps 3 compact.
All of things dont change the fact that when the game goes live its free 2 play.

It's also an "open" beta to all players with an active EVE account, just in case anyone missed that.
(Note: the beta is not actually open, but all holders of an active EVE account get free access to the closed beta).
So if you have a PS3 give it a try, it's a great way to pass the time while mining, hauling, scanning, hanging out cloaked, etc. |

Its actually a pretty effective way to get people try it and I applaud CCP for getting this done. Doesn't necessarily improve Dust player numbers that much, but at least its efficient exposure. It doesn't really affect us who would play the game anyway. |
