Edited by: Commander Disarray on 21/07/2011 17:31:35 Just thought I'd share, that I've been having pretty good luck with this cheap Tengu fit on Level 4's:
Highs: 6 x HML II
Mids: 2 x Small Shield Booster II 1 x Shield Amplifier I (haven't trained for a II yet) 2 x Photon Scattering Field II 1 x 10 MN Afterburner II
Lows: 3 x Ballistic Control II 1 x Capacitor Flux Coil II
Subs: 1 x Accelerated Ejection Bay 1 x Dissolution Sequencer 1 x Augmented Capacitor Reservoir 1 x Amplification Node 1 x Fuel Catalyst
Rigs: 2 x Medium CCC I 1 x Rigor Catalyst? (I think that's what it's called)
Ammo: All T1 Heavy Missiles ()
DPS: 495 with T1 missiles, 700 with T2 missiles. The cost savings from using T1's is great in the long run, if you don't feel the urge to rush through missions. I usually keep a stash of T2 Precision and Fury missiles in the hold, just in case.
Total cost for the ship/subs/fit was about 460 million from buy orders and it does Level 4's just marginally longer than my old faction fitted T2 missile Tengu which costed about 980 million.
Just thought I'd share this inexpensive and effective fit!

+1 i guess. I still think it's worth to add faction stuff to your tengu to make it do more damgae and missions quicker.

The other thing to bear in mind is when dealing em/ex the rifling launcher pattern with a set of hobgobs/warriors will (slightly) out damage the accelerated launch bay. Considering the number of missile resistant scramming angel/sansha frigs, it makes sense to keep the sub and drones handy. ***The EVE servers and their patches***

The one and only idea of using 2 small boosters instead of 1 medium is the cost. For deadspace it's a matter of some 600 mil. For t2 I'd be impressed if it's 600k.
Capacitor flux coils are typically a bad idea, you'd be better off with another BCU and dropping a rigor. Or better yet if you found your previous tank sufficient, replace the second booster with a cap recharger and keep the rigor while adding another BCU anyway. Parrots, commence!

Yea, I've got to do something about that Capacitor Flux Coil. The fourth BCU doesn't add much damage (maybe like 20 DPS?), but it was for the low cap recharge rate that I ditched it for the Capacitor Flux Coil. Maybe ditching the Rigor rig for a third CCC isn't such a bad idea. Those scrambling frigs get popped easily enough, and that Rigor's damage can be made up by training Guided Missile Precision to level 5.
I was grinding 3's with this setup and made about 50 million in 3 hours over a two day period. This setup will pay for itself within a month just doing 3's casually!. It isn't such a terrible ISK loss if it get's ganked either.
I factioned out my last Tengu pretty high until I realized how expensive it got.

I rarely use Precisions. I just keep a few CN Scourge faction instead. I think they perform much better against smaller, faster stuff and don't have lame as* penalties.
I know your whole concept is doing it cheaper but the thought of getting webbed at just the wrong time, in that ship....
Might wanna use Precisions (cheaper) for most small stuff, but keep a reload or two of CN Scourge just for emergencies.
