I think that a POS should allow to have a docking clamp structure that allowed you to lock the supercap in place and need a password to unlock it from the clamp to be able to pilot it. This would eliminate the Bumping and theft situation of a supercap.

This is an interesting idea.... and I'll support this on once condition:
1.) Supercaps get altered/nerfed such that their ubiquitous pressence in game can be effectively countered by a standard subcap class vessel. In other words, Rock, Paper, Scissors, Supercap is not acceptable... They need to be vulnerable to subcap fleets.

I think that it needs to be the same as if it was just drifting with no pilot in a POS.

I completely support this. This would be a good fix to improve game mechanics. It shouldn't be so easy to steal ships from corp mates or bump them out of a POS. I wouldn't limit it to just supercaps though. I think it would be good to be able to lock down any ship up to a certain number like 10 ships or have a certain value assigned. Like 1000 points total where one supercap equals 1000 points so you could only lock down one supercap and have regular caps worth 250/333 point so you could lock 3 or 4 cap ships and BS could be worth 100 points and so on and so forth. I agree that it should be CPU/GPU intensive.

Edited by: RiftedDragon on 22/07/2011 22:23:25 I feel that even if this feature was added. People who use multiple accounts would still use multiple accounts. Pilots spent months if not years before they are flying supercap ships and there is absolutely no way for a pilot to semi-securely store the supercap. Even if that pilot owns their own private POS, people can warp past a POS and bump the ship out of the POS. I feel that a docking clamp for supercaps would drasticly improve the mechanics and security for a supercap pilot to be able to keep playing the game. People who fly supercap ships end up stuck in these ships and lose the ability to play the game with other ships which causes many pilots to get upset and/or bored of the game. I know Titan pilots in EVE who have quit eve and stopped subscribing because of this situation. So I feel that CCP really needs to address this issue as it has been an on going situation for many years now.

Edited by: Kyle Brutor on 23/07/2011 07:26:36 If someone leaves an unoccupied super in a POS they deserve to lose it. In EVE there are things known as holding characters that sit in the super (usually logged off) while the real pilot isn't in it.

I really disagree with this point to some degree.
