Yea... That's in the contest rules. Still, for those of us not interested in "prizes" it would be nice to have the FULL archival site up and running. Then again... it takes them 4-5 days just to translate English into Icelandaneese anyway then another month to decide how to tell you their proceeding so I doubt anything will be done unless you all go on mass revolt again.

For those who can't make the site to work I've found way to circumvent this little problem.
Use ninjacloak or other similar service.

Can't access the site unless I use the machine behind me...
Oh and for those even thinking it. Both systems are running the same versions of everything (up-to-date too!). The only difference, aside from hardware, is the fact that 'this' machine visited the beta-version of the eveisreal site and the other one didn't.
I even went as far as to use Chrome Portable...nada.
If it was just me, I'd start looking at cache, history, session data, etc (all of which I've already cleared [CCleaner]). But seeing as there's several others...there's got to be another reason why eveisreal is the ONLY website out there that I cannot access.
This is what chrome reports, other browsers just perpetually-load, after awhile of trying to access the site:
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

Same external IP, the internal one is .101 (can't view site) and .100 (can view).

My problem is the use of flash.... and the LACK of flash in the games own browser.... That would be the best option considering we'd be IN eve to immediately tell an awesome story!

I would love to offer constructive feedback for this website, but I really wish you hadn't used flash, and certainly not as heavily as has been done.
The website will be far more functional and usable, and a community asset, if it is built using html with typical blog/top story type functionality.
I love the basic concept, but in terms of implementation there is just no incentive for me to use the site. It's slow to load, and it's slow to browse through the recent submissions. It's difficult to keep any sort of order to tell what I've already looked at other than memorising the position of the icon on the board, or memorising the look of the near-uniform-coloured thumbnail. But that makes it hard to return later to determine if what I'm seeing is new or not. Loading time flicking between images/videos is slow, and some of the images are pointless because they refer to details that are obscured too much for the size presented.
The whole website basically puts unnecessary barriers between the visitor and the content he wants to view, and removes features that would normally make navigating such content simpler and easier to keep track of. There are plenty of websites on the internet which are designed to do what this website wants to do - seeing how those successful ones present content would help, I think, in determining how to rebuild this website in a way that makes it a community asset.
I would love to link interesting videos and pictures to friends - but as it stands, I just don't want to navigate the content, let alone tell anyone else about it.

The pictures are too small, its hard to navigate and its impossible to find stuff of interest.

Can you please please please do something about the annoying flash movie players.
Because the videos are linked from youtube you get the obligitory adverts on them, but you can't close the adverts because when you hover over the player you get the bar pop up with the video description covering the advert.
This is really damned annoying, expecially considering half the bloody adverts are for ISK selling sites, i don't want to see that ****, deal with it please.

Seconded. Also, about half of the ads are for RMT sites. Is CCP endorsing those sites by allowing such ads? I know CCP is quick to attack sites that display RMT ads.

like the Eve is Real event, it's what influenced me to give Eve a try. And now I am here to stay (it's certainly less painful than FFxi, that's for sure).
I know that I'm too late to join the contest but I was wondering if there's a thread for sharing screen shots on the forums. I tried searching for it but it was singularly unhelpful in it's results.

I can't stand the interface - flashy animation and random floaty things don't make for a useful interface. Computers are handy for organizing, sorting and processing information - why jumble it all up again and make things hard to sort through?
Also, count me as one of the masses who can't find the upload button, despite the useful tips of "Scroll to the bottom - derp". Perhaps submissions are closed now during this silly vote? I dunno, can't find information to that effect either, so who knows.
All I know is I finally thought of a video I could share to add to the whole experience and contribute to the "LOL Aurum" goals for those that might care. Alas, the upload button is missing/removed/obfuscated, and I no longer care.
Here's the ransom video link if CCP wants to upload it themselves - I probably would've picked "war".
