I logged in again after a long time, turned off the hyper-gai Incarna option, and if I understand this correctly, all we can see is the goddam door? Is that what's going on right now?

CCP has already stated they are going to bring back a similar thing to station spinning (in terms of functionality) but once Incarna and CQ has been optimized to run at a similar level to pre-Incarna you will be forced into it, no exceptions. (which hopefully for you might change in the next few months)

I'm actually so used to that static station door now that if they bring back some form of hangar and ship spinning I might have some sort of sensory overload overdose like a kid that ate too much candy.

yes, ccp has ignorantly deleted ship spinning in hanger. Enjoy your 50 fittings.
and enjoy the door. They might bring back the hanger view... some time.. in a few months or year.

I like Incarna, or rather what it may become. But it was a dire mistake on CCP's part not to have it as an option from Station view.

...and that image has been there through a few patches too despite wide spread mocking and iritation about symbollically being "shown the door" if we didn't like incarna
It would be easy to dismisss the original apperance of the door as an indavertent slap at players (maybe they thought it was enticing?)
...but given the symbolism being pointed out and their active decision to keep it, clearly they do want people who don't like incarna to leave... or adopt or leave etc ... and they don't mind being rude about it either.

This is my other account speaking. It's gonna feel good tomorrow to wake up and terminate both characters. Tell CCP to enjoy their free lunches at the workplace while they still can. I paid real money every 6 months for this kind of worthless filth, never logged in much, just forked over money. Can't wait to read about layoffs due to corporate accounts realizing that people aren't providing the lifestyle that these lowlifes were accustomed to before. PEACE *****S

Come now, thats a bit over the top i'd say.
The net good they've done for virtual worlds is immense and what is left is still ions above alternatives (well maybe only mutiples of perptuum) in terms of letting players shape content , run an economy, name things, have hundreds of thousand plus players to shape large organizations that interact etc.
I still have hope, and I find the whole virtual world thing and even the parsing through of changes intellectually interesting (I was a social scientist in college and love to see where politics, economics, sociology, pychology, geography, rhetoric meet)
Still I marvel at some unforced errors and would truly like to understand the inter-organization ebbs flows, debates, and mindset of top people to get feelings about how their institution operates in coming to decisions.
I'd also love to know more if there are cultural differences beyond the nuances of language that require certain types of stubborness or have slightly different ideas of saving face or offense etc (like in some cultures making eye contact for too long is considered agresseive etc)

Seriously this is indeed one of the most incompetent flubs a major Game development company has made in the history of online gaming.
Certainly we know we can see what ship we are in by squinting to see the one highlighted by a thin, white line in the hanger window. But really....the immersion experience of staring at THAT DOOR. MY GOD. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING ??
Arggghhhh.
The sheer NUMBER of times I have Un-Docked in ABSOLUTELY the wrong ship.......
And I know YOU have too.
But it's all fun isn't it? Isn't it ?....this release that went off 'without a hitch'.
I'm just being patient until November or whenever the final iteration of CQ hits. Then my decision, and you know what I mean, will be made, as will MANY others I am positive.

There is always the option of not docking. POS/CAP FTW. At least until my accounts run out.
I've went from 8 accounts to 4 thus far. Will see how I feel and where CCP at with ship spinning when the remaining 4 run out.
I sold my toons on the other accounts so the iskies I made will keep them running for a while.
If it looks like they aren't going to give us SS back then I guess I will shed one more toon and consolidate into one account and play that one account until all the iskies run out or they change something that doesn't allow you to purchase a plex with isk.
Either way I will state as before: CCP made the best damned internet space ship game EVER. Doesn't mean I'll play forever... just means it has my attention ATM.
However the recent changes and said future changes is causing it to lose some of that "warm fuzzy feeling" I use to have for EVE. You know... the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you pee in the pool?

I don't believe people are actually quitting because they can't spin their ship in the hanger.... i mean... really? You play spin-ships online? The fitting viewer not cutting it for you? Ship rotate too slowly in the normal view for you? Oh man that whaaaaambulance is getting loud...
