Honestly, this is nothing new. Mac version lags behind. There is always the option to use the PC version on a Windoze partition too at least.
But most people don't use a Mac for games (I hope that is still true). Usually, you buy a Mac to get some REAL work done. Then play games on the side as a bonus. Eve isn't as real as RL.

No. I'll never buy any CCP product again. And if in doubt I'll not buy any Apple product again either. That's what Steve earns by advertising with buggy software.

Edited by: Charis Perceptum on 15/08/2011 09:33:18 The key issue of this rant should be the fact that majority of users using older MAC platforms have experinced issues since the implementation of the new expansion (a graphically intense expansion at that) and that the software provider has not taken the appropiate means to address any of the mentioned issues other then a couple of hot fixes.
Simple put you pay for what you use your PC/Mac for. If the developer won't get off thier duff to fix the bugs then don't support the software, but you can't expect the programmer to support out dated hardward. I have no issues what so ever running SC2, strip mining in EVE and runing Itumes on my IMac (2011 model with the first generation of thunderbolt technology), where that would crush my 2009 MBP. At the core of the issue the Mac's themsleves aren't the issue, CCP's abiility to create a stable program is. All you can do at this point is point out the problems and let them know what needs to be fixed if and in several months they don't then they lose your support as a customer. There's my two cents.. It's better to burn out then fade away... Carpe Diem. |
