Before I say anything, I know that many of you are just going to flame me. I don't care.
AS one professional to another, I don't mind that you killed me. Take my ship. My cargo, anything. I don't care about that. It's your job and I hope you enjoy my hard work.
But.
My pod? Why my pod? Every time, you kill the pod too. Why?
You don't get anything, if I am not mistaken.
It's just not polite, and further, it's unnecessary. It wastes lasers. Lasers are bad for the environment.
Again, it's your job, so I don't care about my ship. I do not.
So why do you pod kill? |

You just gave them the reason. To solicit this message.
Plus they hope that you lost money on Implants. They really hope you forgot to update your clone and lost skill points.
They hope you'll post a complaint, or cry or ragequit.
They want a reaction.
They can blow up Rats or NPCs or Mobs in any videogame. They want a human being to react.

To be honest looking at the killmail best advice is dont go to low sec or near pirates.
Pods sometimes have implants worth more than the ship they lost.
Some pirates have no mercy and like to make your day bad.
Predators have an instinct to kill.

why do i pod kill?
-flashy-red is smexy
-nabbing the pod is hard
-ransoms are one of the best part of this game (i even gots my own twist on that)
-and the best part CORPSES! reminds me of diablo II with the ears. But really, looking over my graveyard always gives me joy on a bad day

Although I am not a pirate (I don't care for the puffy shirts) I can speculate: I would liken a capsuleer and his ship to a tootsie pop. We want to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center, right? But when we finally get there, you just don't chuck the tootsie part away do you?

Why do some people hurt animals on purpose? Or bully? Because it makes them feel in control, in a world where they are not.
Ask a psychologist about it and they can explain it to you in depth.... and that will give you some understanding of all the griefers in EVE...

What a load of crap.
Eve is a peeveepee game and as such a contest between me and my opponent. I win by incurring as much damage to my opponent as possible.
I mean, you don't go onto the Battlefield forums complaining that you can't enjoy the nice scenery of the map because griefers keep shooting you?

Because the All-Father, Odin, tasked me with testing pod pilots with their battle prowess!! It is my job as a certified space valkyrie, to take the bodies of pod pilots to Valhalla for when ragnarok occurs and space floods!

The Squishy sound of your pod imploding is the most exilirating feeling in eve, I get more satisfaction on poding than in the actual kill unless is some outrageously expensive ship and modules.
It all about power, at that moment you are nothing and totally at my mercy, I never ransom.

It is not greifing to pod kill.
You are accusing regular game players who play the game as intended of being greifers.

CCP missed a trick by not making vanity destructible.
I dont think a third tier isk loss system - ship - pod/implants thus vanity also, would have been a bad idea.
Then again CCP surely considered this and concluded that seeding new vanity items on the market on an ongoing basis is more profitable than players having to re-buy vanity if they get podded.
Regardless, if you can shoot something why would you choose not to?

Personally I Do it for the hate mail. I suggest you send your complaints to the pirate that podded you. Also put a bounty on their head, that will really upset them.

Catching a pod is like the luck of the draw, if we get one, we have a chance to cash in. When we get one and there is a refusal (no cashing in), then we pod you.
This will increase our chances next time we catch your pod, because there will be a next time, that you will pay up and not refuse.
Cashing In

Refusal

Either way we win, you will be a killmail or a pay day, the choice is yours. |
