Edited by: Phoenix 777 on 25/02/2005 10:47:17 Ive noticed on the trade forums that people actually sell characters... is that allowed?
if thats allowed, does that mean that you are allowed to buy gamecards for ISK (only ment as buying a combination of symbols not an actual physical card) (cause if its is im posting right away hehe :)

Well, given the amount of players selling their characters without repercussion, I'd imagine it is allowed (can't be bothered to check the EULA...).
However, gamecards = real cash for CCP, so I doubt they would like you buying/selling them for ingame money. You can't trade ISK for real cash anyway, so I don't see why this would be any different...
But I don't really know, just trying to use common sense. ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

you can trade characters yes... but for isk only. You cant sell an account however so you would have to transfer a character to anther account...
guessing that means the buyer also pays you the real money needed to do that  ...new sig coming up Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it. |

nope the buter doesnt pay any real cash at all. it is only allowed if the character purchased using isk (can only use ingame money) is transfered to the buyers account. at the expense of the seller, i.e. they MUST pay the transfer fee.
basically you give somebody the gift of 5 billion isk, he gives you a gift in return of a character. you are basically just trading gifts, just one costs money to be given, call it shipping if you like.
the game card however, is something i couldnt see being allowed. as its not one ingame itm for another. its ingame item, for real world cash value item. to me thats the same as buying isk off the BAAAAADDDDD site out there. and that is against the rules laid down in the EULA, so i would have to say no to the game card for isk. bacuse if it is allowed, that would i could sell anything i want ingame for anything i want in the real world including cash. and there would be no rules being broken by doing so.

An interesting by-product for a player selling a char for isk is that CCP makes around 20 euros for each one sold.

Actually, I remember it saying somewhere that Timecodes are supposed to be bought by players to give to players who don't have a credit card as a gift (I think that's exactly what it said, can't tell anymore cause timecodes have been removed). How could CCP even tell if someone had been selling them for ingame ISK (perhaps they couldn't, and that's why they were removed. )? ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar!
