Why CCP do you make my life difficult
Ive had a Freighter for some time but im now moving areas so is transporting alot of items around 3000 items, i put them in Large and Huge cargo containers to make it easy but for some reason these ships dont allow them. How stupid is this, they are transport ships but cant take cargo containers it now means i have to empty all of them out and put them in the cargo hold.
This is just going to make such a mess as when im at my new location i then have to unpackage the containers and then put the items back in to them after i rename all of them again.
Just does not make sense as all my other ships i can

Containers should make life easier but in eve they are pita. You even have to categorize items into containers because eve universe hasn't invented folders yet. It's like you had to bought new hard drive each time you installed new program.

Can't he just make a courier contract to himself/alt and ship it all or won't that work? (I've never created a courier contract so I am not sure). . I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!

I think the operative word here is "cargo". Pull out your dictionary. Rename them to "storage container". Cargo is goods being shipped. Outrageous.

After all the pointless answers, the real answer (as far as I know) is that in the past when a freighter got popped and the game would try to determine what dropped in the wreck and what did not, due to the presence of cargo containers (and of course CCP's stunning coding abilities) it would create excessive load on the servers and so was nerfed.
I have not heard of CCP having improved their coding abilities past ****** level, and so I assume this is still the case. ____________________________________ Preserved for all time, :::The Thread::: |

Edited by: Cpt Arareb on 23/07/2011 16:32:19 Idk if this work but cant you just contract all your containers in a courier contract? if you cant make a self contract use an alt to contract it to you, then bact to the alt and back to you that should work cause it makes sense to me ....homever I never tried it myself so ...maibe dont work hehe ...will not hurt to try it tho
edit: someone had that idea in a post above me

^ this, to move a corp have a ranking organizer put everything in courier contracts, sorted by bay/etc. When you get to the other end don't just let everyone turn in all at once, turn one in, move it to the bay, then another. Think "unpacking".
also, as was posted, frieghters use frieght containers...
