It seems like they want to use the comunity achievments to promote their game, instead of doing better content and game mechanics. It's like i give a pen to an awsome writer and than i claim rights over what he writes with it and brag with them! me |

It seems to me there's a deep contradiction in CCP's stance here.
The virtual world element of EVE gameplay is what made EVE famous and gave it its "nerdcool" factor. But MT and eventually P2W will gradually erode the sandbox, the virtual world, and drive away the very players who had the patience and motivation to make their own content, to make EVE (and CCP) look cool, different and interesting, to the world.
And CCP seem to be ok with this. They seem to think that they can attract enough new players to make up for the loss, and more.
I hae ma doots that CCP's leap of faith will pay off. Base EVE isn't nearly fun enough for the type of instant gratification, MT-loving player they seem to want to attract. EVE's gameplay was only ever fun in the context of its virtual worldiness; without that, it's really just a thin shell of a game with not nearly enough dev-made content to attract the average player.
They'll have to really pump out the content to satisfy the impatient mob.

I still haven't been able to get to eveisreal.net. I've tried Chrome and IE and no luck.
Anyone else having this problem?

Pretty much what Barbelo said, tho I dislike calling it "virtual world element". I'd just call it sandbox, or simply state that "EVE is what it is because what players made of it".
So yes, it's quite a contradiction when CCP want to bang the drums for what players, and innovative developsers cooked up in their garage well over a decade ago. The current game developers greatest achivement is to alienate themselves from a community who used to like the devs, and interact with them. Now they don't trust CCP, and this game is being twisted into barbie in space and force-controlled instead of player-driven. -

I stopped reading after I hit this slippery slope. Complaining about something that might never happen is drama at it's finest. It's a game. Enjoy EVE for what it is and stop over thinking. If you can't do that, it's time to move on and not look back.

they tried long to get eve to bring in more money, at one point they got a better idea...namely the concept of eve is borked to make that much money. so they invented a new concept WoD, and untill that is ready eve is a perfect place to build and test all the stuff for WoD
