Hello,
I was wondering what the best factions to do level 4's against are. Currently I'm doing a lot of missions vs Guristas but from what I read, this is less than ideal (they have super long range and are generally super annoying. I also read someplace that their loot/salvage isnt the best, not sure if thats true).
I'd like to stick to Caldari esq space, but not required, but so far cant find a level 4 agent that gives me much besides Guristas. Can anyone suggest a faction/location?

EDIT : and you can do missions for the other empires in caldari space, you know.

I didnt know the later. I fly the golem/cnr type ships, so ideally anything without a lot of EM is preferable. Guristas are fine, just very annoying (especially with a golem since some sit out at 100KM).

Golems & CNRs are pretty damage-type agnostic, so shoot whoever takes your fancy. CNR is probably the best ship there is for shooting Guristas. It's a very good ship for shooting any kind of rat.
As far as loot/salvage goes, Guristas are pretty terrible.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

True, but you often get missions versus the local rats too. I.E. an Amarr agent in Squid space will still give you many missions against Guristas.

Edited by: Wedding Peach on 24/07/2011 23:57:00 Guristas: Love long range, heavy tanks, missiles and ECM. Probably the most time consuming rats but they're least likely to kill you. Poor salvage. You'll find them mostly in Caldari space
Serpentis: Love extremely short and long range, high damage, sensor damps. Depending on your fit, they can miss you all the time or do a lot of damage. Poor salvage. You'll find them mostly in Gallente space.
Angel: Love short range, fast ships and target painting. Probably the second most dangerous rats due to target painting causing the amount of damage you take to grow. Good salvage. You'll find them mostly in Minmatar space.
Sansha: Love moderate to long range. Love tracking disruptors. They're annoying and are probably the second least likely yo kill you. Good salvage. You'll find them mostly in Eastern Amarr and Ammatar space.
Blood Raiders: Love medium to short range. Love neuting. I consider them to be the most dangerous of rats due to their fondness of neuting which can break tanks unless you're fit for completely passive tanks. Good salvage. You'll find them mostly in Western Amarr.
Note: Blood Raiders can use Tracking Disruptors and Sansha may neut but its an uncommon occurrence. -------------------------------------------------- I am the Love Angel, Wedding Peach, and I am very displeased by your lack of love! |

Rogue Drones, cause the drone compound drops are quite valuable.

Maybe they were more valuable before, maybe they are less valuable now. I find them to be pretty nice to run

So question,
Pirate type is strictly based off space right, not agent faction. I.E if i fly for an Amarr faction in Caldari space, I wont see a sudden increase in Sansha missions will I?
Overall as a Missile boat, it sounds Sansha are the best. Tracking disruptors do nothing to me, and range is more ideal for me.
