Just wondering what are the chances of a CNR being ganked if its fit with expensive modules? What kind of ship(s) would it take? Thanks.

Edited by: Jak Silverheart on 26/07/2011 20:20:03 If your profitable to gank someone will gank you. It may not be today, it may not be tommrow. But it will happen.
And post your fit if you want us to tell you what it will take. For all we know you could be hull tanking that thing.

Edited by: Corporal Punishment08 on 26/07/2011 20:47:20 Are you wanting to gank or wanting to not be ganked? Everything is gankable...well almost everything I guess? With that being said, there are two things to note: There's no point fitting expensive mods on a CNR if you're not willing to lose them (Something could go wrong in a mission or someone could want to suicide gank you. There's always a risk, be prepared with contingency fund); and CNRs don't NEED expensive mods to be effective. Sure it's nice, but if you don't want to lose it, don't fly it. _____________________________________ Real men corpse tank. |

I actually watch local and dscan, but the only thing I've ever been probed out by is salvage ninjas, twice in 2 years. I don't mission in exceptionally busy systems either.

its not a huge gank magnet, but already a worthy target. you would need around 7 apocs if they scan you for your lowest resists first and even less if they catch you with your hardeners turned off. insured even only one of your invulnies is above break even point. so you better have an insta-undock.
my system is relatively quiet as well, but lately has seen some suicide action regularly because of a lot of tengus. cheers!

ehp? that's totally irrelevant. pve ships should never be put into a position to get pointed in the first place.

for a suicide gank with arties you dont need a point. its pure alpha. you wont get another shot off anyways before concord jams you. ehp is the only thing that will help a target, because more ships will be required to bring it down. thats why t3s get ganked regularly.

Ok, I see a couple things wrong here.
1. Omnis on a CNR. Now I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure thats a mistake. But then again :lolraven: 2. EM hole. The OP was talking about avoiding ganks. Yours is a gank magnet. 3. Pimp. Heh. The A-Type Shield Booster is the only pimp thing about it. His fit is more expensive than yours, and frankly, I'd say better.

HOw do you get caught in a t3? You're faster so you likely wont have enough time to lock on and alpha in a bs, harder to hit?
The only logical way i see getting caught is someone scanning you down and then having a huge fleet warp in. But as a t3 pilot i'm never standing still so they would have to actually ping me down then shoot me?
Can somoene who has ganked a t3 or has been ganked in a t3 tell us what happened?
I just find it very improbable if you are actually paying any sort of attention to your surroundings

dude, there are many ways:
1. if you dont have an insta-undock, you can be smoked while aligning, because a good ganker is sensor boosted to hell and back and sometimes even remote boosted as well.
2. returning to station unfortunately can leave you open to attack because ccp still did not patch the random docking delay.
3. aligning on gates can be critical, too.
still, generally you aren't far off the truth. Most of the t3 ganks happen because the targets are careless.
cheers!
