I am looking for some idea's on what to invest 10bil into.
I had a look at some ship bpo's but at current selling prices of them it just didnt look like people were getting a good return so not worth while.
Any advice welcome (apart from send it to your wallet)

Unless your account is years and years old and you have been researching from day one and you got your own block of space, forget it. Refine and sell because it's going to work out more cost effective than messing around trying to compete with the old crowd who have shedloads of researched BPO's.
What ever you build you are going to buy on the market cheaper than the cost of your mins.

I am happy with any time as long as it is worth it.

Yes if it looked like a reasonable risk.

Paranoid a little when discussing high value purchases. Not sure why I would be ashamed of my main?

Qualify your comment about A) CLutz, You can't just dis something and not follow up with good reason. I posted from personal experience not just to be contrary as many do. Consider the finger pointed.
B) Carries the risk of being scammed and C) to F) gives the impression that you could be the one to do it ;P

BPOs can be researched within a few months or bought on the market. No need to be 'years and years old'.
You can't 'compete with the old crowd' is utterly bullsht.
B) you can always be scammed, which is the risk vs. reward. But be assured that the MD playa's know their business. Just stick to them.
C-F) no. I've enough RL issues and no interest in 'give me your stuff'.
Those questions were only meant for the OP to think for himself and setting a preciser goals. Not ask 'what should I do with my money'.

It's not only possible to start a new industrialist and be competitive - it's trivially easy.

You could go to the sell forum and buy a tech 2 BPO perhaps, while they take years to start making profit on the investment, they're steadfast moneymakers.
You could also buy a bunch of Capital BPO's, research them, and start churning out copies, making sets of BPCs for capital ships.
This takes very little extra work, but is quite capital intensive. Once you have the BPO's and the implants and research skills, you won't have any additional costs ( aside from running a small pos )
Alternatively, you could buy a pile of minerals and start making capital ships with those capital BPO's.
Argueable, 10B is not all that much when it comes to getting a pile of capital BPO's, but it's possible.
Another venture might be going into battleship, or tech 2 production, but that takes a looot of math to work out what's worth it etc.
