Making mods for freespace is extremely easy O,o i personally have a CNS and drake firing missiles on one of my mashup mods, however the hard part is to think of an history and to map said history. |

I'd love to see atmospheric fighter combat in eve.
I think DUST is a big ongoing project though. I strongly encourage you to try the beta. It's really something cool.

there is a pretty good change dust will be more profitable then eve for a while. 40+ million consoles with a free game? 1million people try dust, it will already be double the eve subscription numbers. if we then assume that half those people either buy something or try out eve and half those who try out eve stick to it? double profits.
and before "console players don't bla bla bla" console players have been more mature then ANY pc gaming community I have ever seen. case in point, the random hate on consoles in eve... consoles are the gamers choice now, yet PC people can't except it. Personally? I play everything because a game is a game if its fun I play it. |

Yes CCP do this, because EVE would be so much more fun with only 100 people able to enter a system. Right up until the server went offline because 50 people started shooting at each other. |

If I could do this crap in Eve, I'd always pvp. Imagine coming out of a gate to face an Obelisk about to crush you.

This, pretty much. Incredibly excited, I just hope the money holds out and they go through with it. Otherwise it'll end up just like Black Prophecy or Jumpgate Evolution...icky.
Personally I think CCP should actually focus on meaningful avatar stuff next, and to that "complete sci-fi sim" that they wanted to do. So it won't be just spreadsheets in space, but actual avatar gameplay as well. But we'll have to wait for Dust to release and flop first, so it'll be a while. |

Or CCP buys them out and RSI works on an EVE verion. I do agree with "actual avatar gameplay" that needs to be worked on. |

An Eve-based space combat shooter would be wonderful, with all the ships we know and love, the music, that familiar computer voice, and perhaps a damsel in distress.
Please, please, no! Not the Damsel! I'd even pay Kruul to keep her. |

What CCP should work on is an Eve-Care bear hybred.
OK, that's a very trite opening line, but stay with me a fw before you spark up the flame throwers.
One of the things that seem to be realy lamented in the on-line gaming field is the total lack of 'sandbox games'. Many folks cite Eve as being not only the best example, but the only real example of a true sandbox game. The down side being that lots of folks find the aggressive game play of Eve too much for them.
so, while most Eve players would hate the idea of an Eve-Care bear game I think that is would open a new market up for CCP to tap into |

But that's not EVE and shouldn't be just to sellout to a care bear market. There is endless amounts of games already out like that.
Anyway, here is a trailer for a new game from the makers of the ol Wing Commander! THIS IS WHAT EVE SHOULD BE DOING! Like Dust, this would be an extension of the EvE universe. Not to replace the current mechanics of bigger ship movement ( i.e mouse clicks ) with frigates and above. I'm talking about the fighters and fighter-bombers from carriers. Watch the trailer below and imagine these ships launching off eve carriers with players flying them. Using a joystick, you'd be dog-fighting in zero g physics like in the show Battlestar Galactica! I'd kick your @$$ with a joystick and some rudder pedals! ;)
