I for one do not agree with all you haters , CCP gave you free in game currency and all you people do is ***** , if you don't agree with receiving free currency then just send it over to me , I'll gladly accept it.
On a side note i kind of agree that the new expansion was sort of worthless , but what else other than station walking would you like them to integrate? I for one play without station walking due to lag issues , but that doesn't make it a bad feature.
Also , EVE's recent micro transactions allow quite a bit of it's playerbase to play for free , so you can't really qualify this game as P2P anymore , seeing as you would need to pay maybe 4 months to be able to afford your character with plex's , so that makes what , 65$ ? that's less than any game I currently own.
That is all , PS : did not mean to offend anyone ( if i have ) , just speaking my mind.

the nex store funds ccp , some people actually like their monacles and find it looks good on their character , and PLEX is also a micro transaction , and by using PLEX's you can play for free

I would send you my Aurums, if I could. I can't. :ccp: -- I do have a few expensive suits. However I'm pretty sure none is more expensive than an aircraft carrier.

Delusional OP regarding playing for free as a result of NeX. The reason for all the CCP hate is quite simple; they disdain their players. In short, they suck.

yet you still play , why? I'll tell you why , because you know that this does not in any way change the way you play the game, if they were to add ships and whatnot into the market for real life currency then I'd join the hate bandwagon and stop playing this game , but till that happens this hasn't changed gameplay significantly enough to merit this kind of uproar.

They didn't give me anything useful, and it cannot be sent over to you. At the same time, they've increased their spam campaign, which is just plain old annoying. ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. It's not EGD if somebody's not complaining  Make that most, not some.
CCP haven't put up a good show lately though, and I guess people were just too used to CCP not sucking, so when they started sucking a bit, also considering CCP still leaves most dissenting views up (as opposed to heavy-handedly censoring it all) it just looks like... ...meh, forget it.
Bored now. _

The NeX store is a plex sink, since lots of plex gets used to convert in AUR. That makes the demand go up for plex, that makes the prices go up for them so you will actually pay more isk for plex in the end. Looking at the plex market right now, it doesn't seem to affect us players that much. I can only assume the reason for that is because more people now buy plex because they get a lot more isk for it. This in turn makes the supply go up and level the prices. If anything, a lot more plex purchases will be done.
It's a CCP win-win situation.

You can't trade Aurum at this time. CCP is holding this feature back.
Originally by: Zencro ... but what else other than station walking would you like them to integrate?
How about: walking in stations. No seriously, all I can do right now is walk from my couch to a closed door or to my ship. And CCP's marketing guys have the guts to advertize this as the expansion that brought 3rd person avatars walking in stations to EVE. I wonder how many trials turned into paying subs over the course of this expansion.

You're confusing what people are actually annoyed about.
1) Paying isk for gametime has existed ever since you could trade GTC's over the forum. The only thing that has changed is that CCP changed the name from Game Time Cards to Pilot License EXtensions, and that you can trade them over the ingame market now.
2) The micro transactions in EVE is the NeX store where you can buy clothes for your avatar. In most games with a MT store the micro transactions totally replace the subscriptions. The items in the MT store usually cost less than the monthly fee, but are of enough interest to the players to buy enough of those items.
First of all many players didn't want an MT store in EVE, fearing that CCP might try to sell ships / ship equipment over such a store. In the past CCP stated that they did not plan to change from subscription based payment to MT. So the introduction of MT with Incarna set of the alarm bells with a couple of eve-players. Bad communication on CCP's part didn't make things better. CCP had to fly the CSM to Iceland to do some damage control over their bad communication concerning the launch of the NeX store and other Incarna related grievances players had.
The other thing that got players riled up was the prices in the NeX store. The most expensive item at this time is the monocle. If you had to buy it with $ you'd pay roughly 65$ ... not exactly micro that transaction.
Hope this helps,
Jill.

Our subscriptions fund ccp. Considering the drop in plex prices since the nex store came out, I think its pretty safe to say that nex store demand doesnt come close to even 1 percent of subs, let alone fund ccp operations.
As far as nex goes, personally I think the pricing is hilarious.
Ego's: Everyones got something that can be exploited. CCP is simply exploiting ego's at the moment. Just hand over a little more cash to ccp and your epeen gets stroked in a talented way.
LoLz, I love the different ways people come up with to convince others to give up their money.

...a game, not 3 games. ...eve subscription fees would be plenty to keep EvE and updates profitable even without MT.

Look...NeX and CQ is just the straw that broke the camels back. The problem is, CCP obviously don't play their own game, else they would realize that the average player doesn't want to dress up their space doll, they just want the ****ING (Internet Spaceship) GAME FIXED ALREADY!!

NEX and Ambulation are only worth rebuking in the sense that they wasted development resources adding things the game does not truly need.
What the game needs in order to have a long-term future is two things:
1. For people to play with each other.
2. For the interactions between people to be meaningful.
That's it. If you have that, you will have a dynamic and fresh game independent of what new features expansions introduce.
And you know what gets in the way of all that? Only one thing:
CCP's willingness to pander to solo play.
I'm not saying playing by yourself is wrong and should be punished (everyone does it (sometimes it feels REALLY good)), but when you don't need teamwork to advance in the game at the pace most players want, it undermines the best reason corporations have to exist and the whole premise of EVE itself.
When a player can stay in high security space and acquire wealth at a comfortable pace on their own, everything else is optional. Corporations, PVP, low sec, null sec, empire building, territory wars, etc become OPTIONAL.
Let me dumb it down even more:
As long as staying in high security space is a valid long term option for the majority of players, interaction with other players is no longer an integral part of the game, and the game proceeds to fail miserably on points 1 and 2 above.
I sincerely doubt one in a hundred people would really understand the truth and simplicity of that. Players have a tendency to either think in terms of how changes affect them personally (even if they don't realize it or won't admit it), or they think in the short term, or they fail to grasp how a change will affect the playerbase as a whole.
This is primarily why I have largely stopped exercising effort into posting like this. It doesn't matter if I have the benefit of knowing how every change affected the game since it was 40 people on a buggy development server in 2002. The number of people who have any frame of reference which could allow them to understand and accept this simplicity only continues to decline. Forum debate centers largely over which rocks are good and bad on the beach, as the island itself begins to sink.
EVE was never 'real' and never will be, but it had a good chance to build on that rare feeling you might get once every few years - until it was something which occurred at much higher frequency for everyone.
I was lucky enough to start playing when those experiences weren't next to impossible, and smart enough to keep chasing them. For that reason, I don't regret the time and effort I've spent on the game in lieu of more 'real' hobbies; I got something unique out of it which will outlive both the pixels I've collected and the memory of my character.
How many people are going to try EVE today and end with similar feelings? I don't see many, and that is a genuine pity.
