Originally by: Grey Stormshadow Looks kewl but having issue with blue print import feature.
I have multible entries of every blueprint I own in "blueprint management/scanned corp BPs" and every time I scan corp blueprints again, 1 more entry of each blueprint will be added to the list.
Haven't found button/option to reset this list and I believe that it should be reseted in start of every new search... however for some reason this does not happen.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your project.
I have put in a few fixes to correct this problem. I've also added a "Reset All" button to the Manage Blueprints page to let users start from scratch. If you can't get the bp's corrected, you have the option of starting over now. Hopefully these fixes will make the need for a reset button obsolete though. Let me know if you have any problems.

Another issues i have: 1, i'm unable to resize application window.( -windows cannot be resized & maximized) 2, skill list behaves incorrectly as some skills are multiplicated - see pic below: Image of skills list
For issue 1, this is by design for now. It's a bit of a pain to resize. Although, I've been thinking of some ideas to have it resize the grids and keep the controls the same. I'll play around with it and update if I get it to work how I'm thinking.
On issue 2, I can't reproduce this issue but I'm wondering if it's caused by data still in the program from the error importing your char you had earlier. Is this the only skill duplicated like this? I've added a "Reset All Data" option so you can clear out all the data if you want and then you can reload it. This is an option for you if you like. I need to make some rows of data unique to fix this but for now that might be an option to try if you are having issues. Let me know if you have any more info.
Originally by: Kelly Stafford Unfortunately when you attempt to install the 32 bit engine while having a 64 bit office product installed, the 32-bit engine installer aborts and tells you that you cannot do that.
This is helpful. Thanks. I'm probably going to move to SQLite soon honestly. The separate install file annoys me and there isn't a way to include it as a single reference. I would have done this if I could.
Originally by: Skippermonkey Maybe you want to add something like 'estimated decryptor cost per invention success', as right now you get decryptor cost per invention attempt. just an idea
The invention cost you see is a combination of datacore costs and decryptor costs to get a successful invention. So it's basically an estimate of what it costs already.
Originally by: RaulCosmin Junc I like you;re system but find some bug... At the Update Price tab i want manually update a price, but can't put dot '.' or coma ','. There is any other possibility to change price manually?
Nice catch. Thanks for reporting. This has been fixed in the latest version. Just run the updater to get the change.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Appreciate it.

Potential but still some bugs.
1) Owned blueprint are not being imported/recognised for use. 1) T2 blueprint are always treated as BPC no option for T2 BPO.

I'm not seeing these issues. Can you be more specific? I am able to mark T2 BPOs as owned and they save the me/pe values for use. I included logic to deal with T2 BPOs so I want to make sure it works correctly.

For example, I want to calculate the "Tracking Enhancer II" invention using a "F-aQ Phase Code Tracking Subroutines" as a meta item to improve the success chances. How do I set the price of the f-aq?
I have updated the program to allow for importing prices for META items. When you select an item in the blueprint tab, the tool tip for the combo box will list the META item name for that meta level (Until I can reorganize things on this screen).
Let me know if you have any issues.

Zifrian :)
One more thing about the import function. I see that you fixed the bug and (corp blueprint) import function works flawlessly now. However it would be _really_ awesome if the import function would bring ME/PE values with the blueprints. Setting those values to 200-300 blueprints manually isn't very fun task :/
Anyways as a whole this software looks very complete pagage and looking forward to playing with it more when have had time to import all my stuff into it :)
Keep up the good work, grey |

If memory serves we cant pull that kind of info.
But i wanted to say good job, i was testing it out a little over the weekend and seems to work well. But i couldnt get the blueprint copy cost to actually work into the math.

Edited by: Noah Deathstryker on 22/08/2011 14:20:49 I've downloaded the code and played around with this a bit this weekend. Good stuff, wish you would have done it in C# and used a bit more OOP principals, but a good effort none the less.
You can easily make this workable for 64 bit users by changing the build option from x86 to any CPU. You might also look at putting the Microsoft DAO into your build script and detecting if it is installed and then install the correct drivers depending on the system (32/64).
I haven't looked at any "bugs" or anything, just checking it out at the moment.

One downside with sourceforge, you have to put your code out there for all to see!
I didn't even think to compile for 64 bit. I'll try and do that tonight. I was so busy trying to get it to work just as 32bit I forgot all about that. On the DAO part, that gave me quite a bot of headaches early on. I'm using ADO.net now and I'll probably just move to SQLite. Problem with access is that there isnt a way to reference the dll you need so users have to install the other program. I really hate that but from what I got from researching it, that's the 'solution'.
As far as my code, yeah I'm a bit sloppy on the oo front but this is my first use of vb.net and I used vb6 for years. Plus this program didnt have really any 'design time', it all started as a shoppin list program and I stuck new things on it. So I just went with what I knew since I'm not a programmer anymore.
On the request for ME/PE values, yes you can get them from the API but I have to read through an industry log to do it. I haven't looked at it yet but will try to soon. I feel your pain heh.
Thanks for all the feedback. Appreciate it! --- Maximize your Industry Potential! Download EVE Isk per Hour Here! |

Edited by: Kemo Sabi on 23/08/2011 14:38:58 I've been using EVE ISK/H for a while now and I'm finding it to be a VERY handy tool. Much kudos to the author!
I have one questions though: Is there some way to see the total estimated profit of all the items combined in the shopping list? On the shopping list itself it lists the total cost and volume of the raw materials, but no way to see the estimated total sales value of all the finished products on the list.
The program has the feature to estimate total profit based on cost price and market sales price of an individual item, but no way to get total profit from a production run of a number of different items together...at least that I can see.
If I am just not seeing it, please assist...if it really isn't there, it might be a nice addition to the program.

Either im not understanding your reply, or you didnt understand mine.
What i would like to see is the datacore and decryptor cost multiplied by the % chance for invention success. A 'comparable invention cost' if you will.
So, for examples sake using made up figures;
an invention job uses 500 isk of datacores and 500 isk of decryptors and has a 50% chance of success. The 'comparable invention cost' (or whatever name you want to call it) would be 2000 isk.
I hope that makes sense. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EVE: TESTING GROUNDS FOR WoD & DUST SINCE 2011 |

No, your question was fine it was just my response didn't make any sense at all. Sorry about that.
What you are seeing in the invention costs is exactly what you describe. It totals up all the materials you need to invent (datacores, decryptors if selected, and meta items if selected) along with the installation fees and calculates the end cost per successful run. So if it was 50% success chance, then it would multiply the costs by 2.
Let me know if it's not working as intended with an example and I'll take a look at it.

I use EVE Central and yes, if it isn't in the EVE Central DB, I can't get a price. All the item prices are updated by users through using their update tool so if you want to contribute, you can install that and run it while you are playing. Also, faction items (besides ships) are not listed on the market so EVE Central doesn't have a way to query these until CCP adds them. I have another site I'm looking at to get those prices but many will still be incomplete. You can manually enter them though.

Hi.
I wanted to say I like your programme.
Had a couple questions. When doing a price comparison under the manufacturing list tab, what is the difference between build/buy, raw materials, and components? I assume it has to do with what part of the production chain you buy in but would like to know exactly what I am looking at.
Second question. If one of those options does involve buying raw materials and building the pieces of a t2 item, then building the item itself from the pieces you constructed, does it use the bp's I already own and their associated me/pe levels or does it assume a blank bp?
Thanks again

On your first question, if you go to the Blueprints Tab, you will see on the left grid; the components to make the item, on the right; the raw materials to make all the components on the left plus any additional materials that cannot be made from a blueprint (e.g. robotics, minerals). If you choose the check box "Calculate Optimal", the materials listed in both grids will be the same. This shows the components that would be cheaper to buy on the market vs. those that would be cheaper to build; then it displays the final component list. For example, if you can buy Component A cheaper than building, and can build Component B cheaper than buying, the list will show Component A and the materials required to build Component B.
On the Manufacturing Tab, it allows you to see all three of these calculations for every item at the same time or you can choose to look at each one separately.
Anytime a BP has ME/PE stored values, I use those values. On the Blueprints Tab, you will see the ME of the component BP in the grid if it is listed.
In short, the manufacturing tab lets you view multiple items at the same time for the values you can view individually in the blueprints tab.
Hope that helps. --- Maximize your Industry Potential! Download EVE Isk per Hour Here! |
