On the 7th of July 113 a Charon class freighter silently departs Caldari space
Its captain, a former Zainou scientist, together with most of his team and research.
Two days later, an unprecedented initiative commences...
The Arek'Jaalan project beckons(click for video)
It's been 24 days since capsuleers started their work on the Arek'Jaalan Project, and since then, great progress was made. Our library has had a steady stream of new conclusions and findings added, and that stream is still gaining momentum.
However, some of our divisions are lacking manpower in research, contribution as well as lead positions.
Therefore, we call out to all capsuleers in the cluster to join us in this venture, and have your name immortalized as members of the Arek'Jaalan Project!

You mean CVA's little spin off Clergy right? I mean honestly... are you that delusional to think your voice means squat to the actual Empire? That they recognize any authority you have aside from your capsuleer organization. You kids really need to stop drinking the communal holy water it's making you delusional.
Frankly anyone who wants to participate in any project hosted in New Eden is free to do so. You are after all capsuleers, you answer to one person and one only... yourself. These pompus jackholes who think they have any authority or power in the actual government branches are a joke.
So participate people, if your CVA pigdog leaders think they have any authority show them how wrong they are. Stripped of your worthless rank in Government eyes... whup de do. Cast out of their little circle jerk cult... oh no. Freeing your mind and doing what you are purposed to do as a capsuleer, now that is why we are here isnt it?

Not asking will net you no knowledge.
Quote: FromMyxx SubjectMusings on Wormhole Space, known space, stargates and cynos Date 113.08.05 03:49 Content People call me a madwoman. Perhaps I am, given I am a fan of the esoteric, insane writings of those like Macaper, Lovecraft and other gallente authors of the horror genre. I sit here at my terminal, writing like they likely did from time to time, inable to sleep. That is not the point, however. I think many things obvious, such as the existance of other clusters of potentially habitable stars that we've yet reached or opened up. Places we've yet to walk to and explore. I'm interested in the sleepers because I have a feeling they know something about those distant places, those places that so far only exist in mythos of the insane I mentioned above. Those places we're afraid to dare to go to.
I have this feeling because of the apparent nature of wormhole space itself. I have a feeling they knew how to bridge unimaginably huge distances between stars. Distances larger than where our typical, portable jump drives can take us. They knew how to bend space to their will. There are inactive, damaged stargates in wormhole space that appear to be of Talocan origin (or are they sleeper origin? More on that another time, from another person entirely, possibly). Where did they go? What did they know that we didnt?
Our stargates already bridge huge distances between regions of space, they are immense lengths of entirely empty space. Not unlike some areas of W-space, at times.
Before sleep takes me and prevents the creation of more horror stories like those I admire, I pose a set of questions for the night for others to ponder on:
Where did those astral travelers go during their time? What did they know that we do not? Why did they need stargates for abnormally huge distances?
How can we fix them and learn from their constructions?

Its funny to see the intelligence of individual CVA members has hit an all time low. This isn't my project nor am I participating in it, much less for some petty sum of isk. I merely was informing other capsuleers that you cant do anything short of tossing them out of your corporation, which to many would seem like a bonus more than a penalty.
Tell me if one of your members does participate, what are you going to do? Excommunicate them from the church? Pity you cant do that since you and your merry band of morons have no actual authority in the Amarr Empire. Your "damned good reason" is nothing more than an excuse to cover up the fact that you are blatantly butthurt that you do not have the intellectual capacity to participate in a joint effort for people to better mankind. You have tunnel vision of your religion which is masked by your self induced belief that you have any power in the Amarr Empire beyond the ability to PAY to issue Concord sanctioned War declarations, a luxury that even people mere hours fresh out of their respective academy schools share. This is why organizations such as CVA are jokes. Sure you try to enforce your beliefs but at the end of the day, The Empire does not employ you, nor support you. They recognize you as the same type of entity as any Capsuleers mining corporation.
Please continue to huff and puff your unrealistic threats on the IGS. I'll be sure to contract you some tissues and maybe a tampon or two next time I'm in Amarr space. Funny how I have been "listed as an enemy of the Empire" by several organizations, yet the Empire finds me in quite good standings. Funny how that works, the fact that people like you claim to have authority, yet come up short.

Thats just the point, you have no authority over any capsuleer. You should feel privileged they have chosen to join your cause. To tell them what to do is akin to one god telling another what to do. You can all you want, they don't have to listen. I can imagine it would be difficult to see things any other way for you.
It's been a known fact CVA members have their heads firmly wedged up their own ********s for years. People generally don't like seeing that they are wrong, I believe the term is "ignorance is bliss", frankly... I have another word for ignorant people, one which definitively encompasses you at this point.

Thank you for the reply.
It would strike me as logical that Nation would want some important positions covered - both to have it easier for the time when they consider it necessary to strike, and until then to gain inside information on the project to use for their own Nefarious ends.

You are not neutral. Standing idly by while an atrocity is commited is choosing sides. You are willingly supplying Nation loyalists with advanced technology for their war against all of us.
You are already excluding people based on political alignment. Being moral means voluntarily refraining from certain actions considered immoral. Being immoral means all actions are open to you. Hence moral people have an issue cooperating with immoral people, while immoral people have no issues working with moral people. Being "inclusive" and allowing both kinds of people means you deliberately exclude the moral ones. I'm sorry Mr. Sadik, but you are simply misinformed to the on-goings in and the long-term goals of the AJ project. If you reviewed our literature further, or reviewed initial project declarations, you would see that the aim of this project is not to develop technology focused on weapons development. It is to develop a library of understanding. Granted, there may or may not be bi-products of this research, but these potential bi-products would be kept in completely separate departments from the ones of the aforementioned parties, thus making your worries unfounded, so don't fret, we can handle this.
As for your ethical and philosophical concerns regarding neutrality, the Arek'Jaalan Project functions as a neutral meritocracy in time with the deepest of Caldari traditions. The happenings of the Sansha is not in our control nor something we will be involved in. Ours is a mission of information and discovery for all parties, not one or the other. Our policy is that of neutrality, and no matter how you interpret it, it is what it is.
We are not exclusive, everyone is able to join this project, and everyone contributes. I regret that you have such a narrow minded view of the situation, but it is what it is.
Arek'Jaalan is neutral. We are not involved in current issues regarding certain parties in the cluster because we choose not to. Attempting to say we are guilty by non-action is coercion and may work among your ranks, but does not work here. But thank you for voicing your concerns. If there are any other issues you have, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The Nation has openly declared that the AJ project will be destroyed. Wither or not you wish to remain neutral, as far as the Nation goes, is irrelevant. They have chose this aggression for you.
Now knowing what I do, and having your Security chief a self-admitted Nation loyalist, what more evidence do you need that he should not be in a position of leadership among your combat wing. I understand the strive to be as neutral as possible for science sake, but Nation has expressed aggressive interest in your project, and against every Non-drone human in the cluster. They are not going to work with the very capsuleers they are waging a war with presently to better the human race.
Whatever means they have for this project, wither to gain knowledge to further their goals of cluster domination, or seeing the project as a threat to said goals, I can guarantee it isn't a "in the sake of Science" endeavor on their end.
This is not something that should be casually "investigated", and at the very least, the people in question removed from their current positions until a full investigation has been accomplished. I can tell you from my end, if we have reports of sabotage or treason among my ranks, they are stripped of any potentially damaging roles until the investigation is completed, and we can reinstate or administer further actions. It keeps our interests and assets safe, and allows for the said individual from being falsely terminated from their positions or roles. Allowing these individuals to keep their position in a pending investigation might have damaging consequences.

If anything were to happen, we have proper precautions in place. The main channel would continue to operate normally, fleet commanders would step up and take the place of people who betray us. We can rapidly remove others from a position of influence if we're forced to. Science would go on. --

So far we have done little but lay foundations. I think claims of handing advanced technology "to the enemy" is leaping a few steps. For one, we'd actually have to acquire or develop some, and for two, doing so would have to be an aim of this project. Nowhere is such an aim stated, there are no projects under consideration designed to develop new technology, and there have been no serious discussions about setting these aims or undertaking such projects, as can be seen from the now-archived mails and meetings in our first month's operation.
Given that we operate with such transparency, and that Arek'Jaalan projects can only gain support by doing so, I hope that people realize such a thing could be seen coming, in any case. Recent interest in Project Macaper's Eye, for example, has shown that people are not afraid to involve themselves in a project if it is seen to pose an unecessary risk to any human life. Transparency in our operations ensured this issue was raised and evaluated promptly, and that future work will continue in the public eye.
Our goals are simple: Research, document, educate. There is no desire to weaponize technology, nor aid in such a thing through the reckless pursuit of knowledge.
Keep in mind, too, that we take Sleeper artifacts and study them while others turn them into instruments of war. The concern should be focused elsewhere. Arek'Jaalan offers just the faintest hope of using the resources of the unknown regions for other ends.
If people are truly concerned about the reckless weaponization of Sleeper technology, then they should join us, not fight us.
I would only ask that those who think Arek'Jaalan is some amoral plot to overthrow the cluster think back to Ms. Neferis' comment about mirrors; about the current capsuleer monopoly on Sleeper technology, and how it is used.
So long as the members of Arek'Jaalan understand the reality of this situation, and that our only fight is with ignorance and apathy, frankly I don't care what political or ideological views they have. We have real work to do, we don't have time for the cosmetic stuff. |
