on stage 3 in Vengeance mission (lvl 4) there is an angel battlestaion. I wanted to see if it dropped anything, and about 5-600 torps later I got a can with the following loot:
1 basic gyrostabilizer
100 fusion M
1 Passive targeter
100 Scourge heavy missiles
100 Thorn rocket I
1 basic expander
  
oh well.. I guess Im not gonna bother next time

Heh, agreed, not worth the torps 
...but it DID drop something. Me and a friend of mine put 2'600'ish (yes, two thousand and six hundred) torps into CONCORD Security Station and the bloody thing did not even drop a can...
So, for now, I refrain from blowing any structures that I don't have to, or are obvious sources for goodies (like the silo in extravaganza)..

What we need is a way to scan structures to see if there is anything dropping from them.
I have actually fitted both cargo scanners and ship scanners in order to see if I could find out what a structure would drop, nither worked.
First time I do a mission I always kill all "wanted" structures, after killing em once (if they are high hull) or two-three times (if they are the 2 volly dead types) I simply ignore the ones that dont give out anything.
A station scanner would be very helpfull both for this and for when killing POS comes into play for real, I do not think you should be able to scan a station with the weak scanner thats enough for ships :)

Yeah I spent about 30 mins shooting up a serpentis one, the loot was terrible.
