So what was incursion again? Honestly that was a great pve expansion.

Edited by: Cuthbert Chin on 02/08/2011 18:12:15 Rather than make yet another "why I give up" thread, I'll add my 2 cents here:
Today is August 2nd, exactly one month after the CCP-CSM emergency meeting results blog was posted. In that time, CCP has managed to post an additional 8 blogs, none of which deal with the abysmal expansion Incarna is turning out to be. In the mean time patch 1.0.2 was pulled, and after posting the usual "we will keep you posted" tripe, that thread has been silently unstickied and no information regarding 1.0.2 has been released since. I really don't care about the whole NEX-store debacle, what I care about is the removal of functionality to push that store on the players, at least that is my perception, as I care about my hangar. One month on CCP has not been able to tell me in what form and when my hangar will return, while I felt that should have been part of the resolution of the summit in the first place.
The second reason for my leaving is because autism seems to be a requirement for employment by CCP. I'm not talking about the utter failure to communicate, I'm talking about the apparent disconnect between CCP designers/developers and the gaming world at large. To this day I always zoom 1 tick in the wrong direction before I remember that I'm playing special needs game EVE, which has zoom inverted compared to just about every game in existence. So upon release of Incarna it was no surprise to me to find out that the EVE developers had decided to devise their own WASD scheme and decided that modifier keys were a superfluos concept. Not surprised, but damn, was I annoyed.
Since I pay for my accounts six months in advance, I could not cancel my accounts in anger, I had to wait for them to expire, the first expires in 2 days. The good thing was that I had a chance to see the storm calm down, and then focus on the actions of CCP. There have been *none*. Actually there have not only been no actions, there have been no words either.
No actions, no words: no money.
I'll be monitoring the dev blogs and patch notes for a while, hopefully reading about the return of the hangar, the fixing of modifier keys, and the actual release of WiS, as opposed to the hateful, pitiful jail I can walk around in right now (I don't get how you can work on an expansion for 5 years, and then release 1 jail in 1 races textures, seriously, this is duke nuke 'em level incompetence).
Fly safe, have fun, so long and thanks for all the fish.

Dude, why introduce yourself to a group of people that you're about to no-longer be a member of?
Try posting in the forums of the game that you're STARTING to play - you'll get a much more friendly response, usually involving top tips, guild/clan invitations, and maybe some free stuff.

That's a debatable point, but even if they are completely useless .. so what? There isn't another MMO out there, that I'm aware of, that makes even one fraction of the attempt Eve has made with having a CSM. Real, player-elected folks that get the ear of the devs on a regular basis? Even if they're completely ineffectual, it's still a facet of this game that no other game has.

So, don't elect to stare at the door. You do have an option to stare at a functional station interior instead. To be honest, I'm not sure why staring at door is much different than staring at the same ship you spend all your time staring at when you're not in the station though.
Sounds to me like you really only have one legitimate reason for unsubbing, and that's if you don't enjoy the actual game play that Eve has been providing for the last year. More than reason enough. But the rest of that list is just pointless.

You may see the door as the Devs showing you the way out if you don't like it,
I see it as a teaser of what is to come in the future. Kind of a "glass is half empty/full thing.
You may be making the best choice though. It sounds like you and the game would be better off without you. I wish more would make that choice.

Agree with you man. I by myself struggling with urge to hit "unsubscribe" button after I found out what a stunt CCP did with EVE Online players concerning that MT shop history. They literally pushed that MT through our throats without much concern if we need that ***t. And of course they found time for it instead of fixing bugs and expanding the game. Even years in development only tech demo "Infinity the quest for Earth" looks and feels better then EVE Online especially considering it will be huge EVE competitor if and when released.
As for all these agressive posts of "GTFO" kind... they so much feel as not posted by EVE players but by some "interested" parties that it is an insult in itself to see what CCP think about player base IQ. If they think they can survive without EVE player base or with lower then current IQ base good luck to developers in finding their next jobs since high brass have golden parachutes anyway.
I'll still hang around a bit in hope of improvement of the situation. I have subscription for some time more. If it will go the same way as it is now, well I already look around for other game that might interest me. By the time of decision making to continue or unsubscribe I will sure thing find something. Of course players don't go alone. They always take others with them. A point for CCP to think about. Its already a bit empty in some systems compared to a month before.
Good luck to you man and G-d speed!

Oh and concerning bugs. Just now i have a bug that i have no button to undock from station and no Ships button either. Did CCP fixed that? No of course not. They dont have programmers time for it. MT shop is much more important thing.
What for i pay subscription exactly CCP. For bug reports or to play the game? Fix buys release true expansion then have a discussion with players about MT instead of pushing it through. You already lost millions of dollars in cancelled subscriptions. Don't lose entire base.

obvious dev alt is obvious
You guys might have more convincing arguments if they didn't instantly devolve into 'dev alt!' type accusations. It's dismissive and puts you in a mentality where you don't bother considering the opposing points or consider the possibility that a lot of players really are ok with the extensions to Eve that CCP is making (the use of the term 'extensions' is deliberate. I see nothing that suggests the core game play of Eve, FiS, is being reduced, watered down, or hindered in any way. Incarna/etc is simply an additional way to experience the Eve universe).
As I've said several times in the past, I am no dev alt. I do not work for CCP, or anyone associated with CCP, or anyone associated with the gaming industry for that matter. I'm a sr. software engineer for a major hardware/software manufacturer in the silicon valley in California. If I have, through mystical and unknown methods kept secret to me, become an employee of CCP, I sure wish they'd send me some paychecks. Can never have too many of those! --

Well here's another bug that killed the game for me this evening completely. I mined for entire evening.. like 4 hours may be in high sec. Scordites to be precise. Got something like 0.52mil in total ore amount. Hit the sell button get the price of 7 something mil ISK and sell the ore. In wallet i see 1.7 mil transaction for that same ore and not a sign of 7 mil. No i did not missed anything. It supposed to be 7 mil more in wallet and it wasnt. Not to mention that each second sell amounts in wallet and amounts on hover differ. Have to sell something once to fix the bug on hovering.
And with presence of that game killer bug these guys release MT with hopes someone who have more then ameba brain will be buying anything and not getting insulted by their effort to build MT shop but not fix that kind of bugs? They must be totally out of sync with real life there.
