This is a complete hypothetical. I'm using the Loki to attempt to build a slippery exploration ship that could dive in and out of wormholes, low sec gates, and basically just roam the wilds. I know it's an expensive toy for just exploration, and the offense won't be enough for more than a few belt rats, but for right now it's just a thought experiment.
[Loki, Freeman] Power Diagnostic System II Power Diagnostic System II Nanofiber Internal Structure II 'Natura' Warp Core Stabilizer I
Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II Explosion Dampening Amplifier II 10MN Afterburner II Medium Shield Booster II Invulnerability Field II [Empty Mid Slot]
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M Expanded Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I Improved 'Guise' Cloaking Device II
Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing II Medium Warp Core Optimizer II Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Loki Defensive - Amplification Node Loki Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Loki Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix Loki Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration Loki Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier
Shield Resists 72-82%, warp stabilization/speed/reduced cap need, cloaking device, 7s align, speed up to 620 m/s with the cloak off, buffed agility, and the ECM Burst to shake close locks.
That's what my EFT jockeying came up with. What do you folks think? Is this a decent fit to dodge around in the Black for a time? Have I missed a better option?
(Note: I have little PvP experience, so I'm guessing at the efficacy of some of these modules.) ----------------------- The called us fierce marauders Warp riders and guns for hire The night the sky cried tears of fire |

Appreciate the effort Lady, but I've been in that one. This is not for clearing wormhole sites, at any class. Just want to be able to get in, explore, and get out of basically every hairy situation I can get myself into in the bad parts of town while exploring the verse. ----------------------- The called us fierce marauders Warp riders and guns for hire The night the sky cried tears of fire |

Keep that fit hypothetical. Seriously.
I'll be kind though, check your evemail... ;)

Edited by: Lady Spank on 02/08/2011 19:51:16 Ah, you already saw that one, cool. If it's for pure exploring you can do just fine with a covert-ops but you can adjust that fit and use the loki too. I'll trust the poster above me is sending you some handy hints so best of luck and happy exploring.
Getting lost in wormholes is great fun. ~~~

Yes. Always useful to have someone to bounce ideas off in the game rather than getting flamed and disheartened in public...

I can't really speak on specific Loki fittings, but I can give some decent general advice.
Don't waste your time with warp core stabs. And you really need a MWD for the cloak+mwd trick.

- That cloak is unneccesary as a cov ops cloak works just fine with the cov config system - As said, drop the stab, fit a DC if u have the CPU, a nano if you don't - You really do need a couple of damage mods in the lows. They will help alot with DPS, for attacking and trying to kill a tackler when you escape - Mids are pretty good, but i would go for a DG medium booster: lower CPU and more boost - Try to add at least 1 more high for another gun, 3 is too small. Gank targets would have time to call for help and get it before you finish them off

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm working up a new fit based on all the feedback.
I would like to ask why the warp core stab isn't useful. Is it just easily overcome? ----------------------- The called us fierce marauders Warp riders and guns for hire The night the sky cried tears of fire |

Its pointless when you have the Loki Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier sub. The only thing that can point you with that fitted is a HIC point and a stab isn't going to help you there. ~~~

So I can dodge the warp bubbles, but one guy with a warp scram can keep me from jumping. Well yea, that does suck.
Also: based on some of these suggestions, my sig radius is exploding. With MWD especially, I'm making myself a huge target. If my intent is to be tough to catch, don't I want to shave it as much as possible?
Or are they going to lock me up in a heartbeat regardless, so might as well have the speed and tank instead? ----------------------- The called us fierce marauders Warp riders and guns for hire The night the sky cried tears of fire |

If you align, hit MWD, then cloak, and then warp to your destination (i.e. a gate), then the camper has about 1/2 - 1 second to target you before you vanish off his overview, get in range and to apply a point.

Doesn't matter in the cases were you may be vulnerable. If you are plexing and someone is hunting you, warp to a safe and cloak up as soon as you see combat scanners on d-scan.

See first answer. :)
A broadsword running two sensor boosters with scan res scripts, fitted with scan res rigs, and a focused point cycling, may get you if you are careless, too slow, or they are lucky on your drop out of jump at a gate. An interceptor might also get you if they manage to decloak and lock you before you warp. Generally it is under your control and they will only get you if you make a mistake. If you also run the Interdiction Nullifier, you have even less problems and can essentially ignore all bubbles.

I don't think you are fully understanding the role of the ship and it's modules.
With the interdiction nullifier:
1. You are immune to bubbles of all kinds (mobile, interdiction and Heavy Interdiction Spheres.
2. You are immune to warp scramblers and warp disruptors (I don't think you realise this). Adding a warp stabiliser is a waste of time for this reason.
Now; when you fit a covert-ops cloak you can:
1. Jump into system 2. Hit Warp, regardless of being in a bubble (no need to align and mwd out) 3. Immediately cloak
Covert-ops cloaks allow you to warp while cloaked so there is only a tiny window where you can be locked.
The ONLY module that can scramble you is a Heavy Interdictors warp disruption field generator WHEN it has a focused warp disruption script fitted to it. To do that it must get a lock on your ship which it isn't likely to manage.
Of course you take the usual risks you would in any cloaky where a fast ship decloaks you before you warp and either bumps you out of warp alignment or you are too slow and they get a lock. **** happens, you just have to live with it. ~~~

Yea, I'll go ahead and call shenanigans on that. There's nothing in the description or the stats to indicate that. Edited by: Aeril Malkyre on 03/08/2011 19:01:58 Alright, here's another try, based on everyone's excellent feedback. I swapped the scan reduction for shielding subsystem, giving me another high and doubling the tank, but reducing the lows. Swapped the warp speed rig, which was marginal, for increased probe strength. There's no faction or officer mods because... well honestly I don't see them in EFT.
Fire away.
