Among other things an audit would reveal if the character has the skills to do the thing he's claiming to want to do with the public funds, what his total asset worth is, and his transaction history. Transaction history alone provides insight into the performance of his trading activities (if relevant), and show activity. An audit is looking for all manner of suspicious things and hoping to confirm that the character in question is reasonably capable of doing the things he claims.

If I link to a useful scamming guide (recruitment scams, not MD scams), can I be a scammer, too?

Edited by: RAW23 on 07/08/2011 17:31:39 I liked Lyris' scam guide as it will probably deter many people from trying to scam by showing the hard work involved in circumventing all the security checks that have grown up around MD. It boils down to, 'Actually be the things you claim to be, have a good business plan, be genuinely intelligent, and then scam'. This is, in truth, a more or less undefeatable approach to scamming and also one that he majority of players are not going to manage to follow through.
However, if you do actually do all the things that are recommended then your isk/hour earnings on your very first scam will be pitiful so Lyris really needs to add some chapters on how to then build from getting some isk from investors to getting enough to make the time investment worth while. Get back to work, Goon!

The general consensus among the Goonfleet forums is that the amount of time involved in writing that guideùmuch less actually following through with itùwould have been better spent stabbing oneself in the face, unless you want to extend the timeline into years rather than months of activity in Market Discussions and try to walk away with a trillion ISK.
