I have been playing this game for about 4/5 years now, and when I have the time I am living in lowsec / in a war and started in low sec from the first week or so. PVP is therefore not new to me and we have left the honeymoon era.
I have been in my fair share of fleets but still before any combat I get the adrenalin rush, even if I'm just in a T1 BS, I know I can afford 50+ more just on my liquid ISK alone but somehow it still matters, enough even to make my heart hammer and my breath catch for up to a minute.
The other night I lost 2 BS in a great fight, and didn't even blink as each went down, yet when we warped to the gate its the same feeling. I'm not sure whether it would apply to other sports but for me its like the start of a yacht/dinghy race, you've done the sizing up, you're putting yourself in the best possible position, you have thought about how the next few minutes will play out and you are about to spend a long time aware of nothing but your goal.
So who still gets the battle rush, to what extent and if not how long was it before it started to wane? Do you (like me) actually find its greater for larger scale combat rather than solo?

I recently lost a 300m isk Daredevil by willingly engaging a Harpy. A particularly 'daring'/suicidal move and didn't get any adrenaline rush from it.
When I first took out a Stabber Fleet Issue to engage a Caracal I DID get a bit of a rush, despite it being an easy target for my ship, and the low cost at risk (about 120m isk for a fitted Fleet Stabber).
I guess for me, the adrenaline rush only comes when I am in unfamiliar territory, flying ships that are new to me. The ISK put on the line seems irrelevant. ~~~

I think its a similar thing for me, I don't really leeroy expensive frigs slicer / dram is about expensive as I go. I too love the SFI, but it doesn't seem to matter about ISK, AB AHAC, faction stuffs, alpha fleet they all give me the same feeling.

Yeah I'm 19 as well and it's the same.
I also sometimes flinch at a surprise death in a game like battlefield, and I'd get a bit of adrenalin before a big drop on planetside when I used to play, but nothing like eve which is the closest rival to any real world impulse

I'll admit to getting a rush when heading in. The surprise engagements get me more then big fleet stuff (jumping someone at a gate for example), and bubbles are routine for me now.. but it's still enjoyable :)
Oh, and I'm... significantly older than 19 lol

OP ... Best corp name since Rod Me, Pod Me, Gank Me, Spank Me.
Good small scale daring pvp can be a chest pounding rush ... Large fleet PvP with some **** fleet commander on Teamspeak shouting 'Shut up... Shut up' every time someone breathes is less so. 9. |

Although I get the adrenalin it sure does not feel good to me, in fact is makes me feel bad ans sick, sometimes for days, even if Im on the winning side. Thus, I avoid PvP combat.
I notice that PvE does not have that effect on me, and the isk involved is irrelevant as well, so it must be the fact that the combat is against another person that triggers the response.

Every time, even the smallest of battles I get that buzz from the adrenaline. Its the reason I keep coming back to EVE...

I always see to get a battle rush in this game and I have no idea why the longer the fight goes on though the quicker it wears off heh
Just yesterday we engaged an NC. gang with about 15 mid range kiting cynables against a gang of around 20 and as soon as the fight kicked off I got an awesome battlerush but about 15 mins into the battle I started to get bored lol. We came out on top just about still alot of fun though
