There is a chance that you might screw up and lose your ship, but there is no enforced cost. You can shoot people for years on end and not lose a single cent. Tippia has never been in 0.0 I'm not even arguing this anyway. What I'm arguing is that you should ALSO have the chance to Quote: shoot people for years on end and not lose a single cent
in highsec with good skills/cunning A criminal is not killed or caught in situ under normal circumstances and using skill/cunning he should be able to remain at large indefinetly. It's HIS call to take the risk of potentially being caught/killed whatever by continuing to operate in a "dangerous" zone. Make being and remaining a badass crim exciting instead of fait accompli. don't agree with you.
"good skills/experience" == "path to win" is good only when you haven't 10 years of existing game. Elsewere you have old experienced players almost invincible against new players which is not right at all. |

Make the CONCORD AI "smarter", make it lock down systems by pouring CONCORD intervention onto every celestial to prevent boomerang, make it a crime to provide support (logistics, black ops jumps) to a GCCed player, make it possible to fight CONCORD but be faced with literally overwhelming odds in almost all cases. It could be a lot funner than the current system, and with improvement the criminal side of EVE could become more than legalized corporate espionage and cheap parlor-trick scams. I mean, when was the last time you heard about smuggling as a serious profession?
What would be the point in this? This would make CONCORD no longer invincible but, would be so close that it would make little difference. Besides, as others have pointed out, once the mechanic to evade gets to be known then everyone would do it.
Again, you'd be turning high sec into low sec if there were ANY chance to evade the consequences of criminal actions. The potential criminals would gain a few LOLs at the expense of everyone else. No, thanks.
As far as smuggling it's pretty easy to do in a covert ops class ship. As part of an RP corp that rescues slaves (which are illegal to transport in Minmatar space) I do it all the time. The issue with smuggling doesn't have anything to do with game mechanics; the fact is that there's no large market for the smuggled goods and therefore, no profit to be made. What you want is irrelevant, what you've chosen is at hand. |
