Cosmic signatures do not respawn at downtime, they only respawn when a) completed or b) naturally expiring :)
Also high-sec only combat sites (Hideout, Lookout, Watch, Vigil, 3/10s) won't respawn in low-sec for... obvious reasons :P

I don't know Mio. You're right on all accounts but I don't think your post was long enough or elaborate enough. Perhaps someone could get DMC back in here to write a proper essay on the topic?

It may not be broken but ALL exploration sites and any of the complexs I have tried in high sec have been seriously nerfed since Incarna.
For example, the Station loot in the last room of Serpentis Narcotics Warehouse used to drop Coreli A type mods..heck I even got a Vigilant BPC once. Now you get an 8th Tier Overseer's thingie...not even worth the effort. I also used to pick up some T2 salvage from the bigger ships in that one...very rare to get one piece even now.
Low sec escalations...now way worth the risk IMO as I have been getting really busy border systems.

Nice troll bro.
That or you really are as stupid as your post seems to suggest.

Then you're just a moron with anecdotal evidence. I'd attempt to explain probability and statistics to you but I think it might overload your brain.
Hint: ded sites have always had the chance of only overseer effects.
P.S. nice ad hominem going after my charcher name. Good stuff right there.

Seems that the half-demon of Nocturne has caused chaos.
Epic Crimson Hand plex yesterday says that exploration is not broken with an A-type EANM and Medium Armor Repairer. |

So kids, what have we learnt from these shenanigans? 1) If there aren't any sites in your system, then go to a system where there are sites. Stop sitting on your hands with an entitlement complex and expecting them to spawn right next to you.
2) Loot drops are random, and the only way to have a better chance at getting loot is by running more sites.
So: find sites faster, do them faster, get more loot.

Originally by: Hito-Shura I just spent 3 hours looking for something other than mining belts and wormholes and I finally find a Angel Hideout.
But I couldn't enter with my Tengu, I couldn't enter it! No matter how much I tried, I couldn't go in! Is this what exploration is all about!? I think I'll go back to doing Level 4 missions.
I have to believe exploration isn't broken......yet.
It does seem to be extremely buggy ever since the Incarna expansion and has probably been stealth nerfed almost to death.
If it took you 3 hrs to find something else other than w-holes and Grav sites, go to a different area.
As for that combat site you found, try reading the gate message next time. It clearly states what ship class is allowed access. That site allows Frigate, Destroyer Class and their T2 versions.
Obviously there's a few things to remember when it comes to exploration:
Proper Planing Prevents Poor Performance. Expect the worst and hope for the best. Failure is not an option. Evelopedia is info.
And above all else:
Exploration - It's not just an adventure, it's a job.
Seriously, like a job in real life that gives regular base pay for 40 hrs along with overtime pay and bonus pay.
Regular pay is the Radar and Magnetometric sites. Overtime pay is the Anomaly's, 'Unknown' combat sites and hidden DED Complexes. Bonus pay is the Commander NPC spawns at Anomaly's, DED complexes and combat sites along with the Expeditions gained from those.
As an Explorer, you're an 'Independent Contractor' going from system to system doing your job for regular pay, always looking for overtime pay and hope for bonus pay.
You should look at the area you do exploration in as a company. Some areas will have lot's of work available while others barely have any. The trick is to find a few areas or companies that have a lot of work available and make those your dedicated routes which should keep you very busy.
'Tools of the Trade' are high exploration skill levels and top equipment with your ship set up to quickly scan and complete the various exploration sites 'On the Fly' without having to switch ships or refit very often.
Have a 'Base of Operation' centrally located in each area to quickly rearm, refit, switch ships and unload loot asap. Time lost is ISK lost due to a lot of competition, especially on the weekends. Always refer to the Star Map stats when looking for new areas.
Exploration - It's not just an adventure, it's a job.
DMC

Been having some truly delicious beginner's luck exploring a circular route of systems on the borders of gal hisec. Expeditions, escalations, radars, gravs, mags the lot, sometimes (GHASP) nothing at all. Loads of faction and deadspace stuff and a lowgrade snake omega, yummy. Above post quoted because it covers important points i have learned the hard way. Attitude is important and it feels much more satisfying and complex than mission running, which can get like mining asteroids that move around a bit. In order to improve my chances though i would like to add: use only the cheapest gear and keep all your stuff in one spot, the travel time swapping ships n fits is not a problem. Multiple signatures are really duplicate readings of the one you already have at 100%, so don't bother with them. Take only your biggest ship into wormholes, don't bother with backup.

Glorious Emperor Salazar is right, either you are trolling or stupid.
Originally by: Capt Sly ...just a statement of facts...
First of all, its a 9th Overseer Personal Effects that spawn in the station's can, not 8th. And secondly you don't get Vigilant BPCs from those cans either, you get Dardevil BPCs. I know, as I've acquired a few over my time. I remember reading, although I can't guarantee, that for Complexes, HiSec=Frigate BPC, LowSec=Cruiser BPC, and NullSec=Battleship BPC.
Also, just over the last few hours I have ran 2 of these sites and got 4 Coreli A-Types (2 from each). 3 were worthless, but one was a Adaptive Nano.

ORDER,ORDER \o/
You wouldnt believe the drops I had in any type of sites,so dont assume its on a strict and regular database grid.
I said it before and say it again;nothing is broken, its all a matter of timing.
And timing in exploration is so random, cant control that new guy coming in your region/systems or the time anyone decides to scan your route.
As random as the loot contained in the cans really.

We all know oolk is a CCP dev alt who pretends to get ridiculous amounts of epic lewtz to make other players think exploration is worth the time and keep them subscribed hook line and sinker as they wait for their big break.
