Edited by: CCP Daishi on 19/08/2011 11:35:57 Hello Everyone,
We have a lot of great things going on this year at PAX Prime 2011 and I hope you can join us there to have some talks about EVE Online.
What booth number are you at?
We will be located in booth number 422
Which of the developers will be attending?
Kristoffer Touborg - CCP Soundwave Scott Holden - CCP Molock Tony Gonzales - CCP TonyG Svenni Kjarval - CCP Guard Nick Blood - CCP Dropbear
In addition to this awesome lineup, we also have kil2 of alliance tournament fame coming up as part of our presentation lineup.
More info on the presentations will be revealed here next week.
What sort of things will be happening at the booth?
This year is different from previous in that we will be doing a stage presentation in addition to the demo kiosks we've been running for years. This includes a whole new re-design, look, and feel as we start moving into 2012.
Presentation topics will include:
Myths of EVE Player Creations Eve Storyline Professions and Careers DUST Link Pod Pilots Vs. Mercenaries and more!!!
Will the store be there?
You bet! We have a whole section dedicated to the store at the booth. Quantities are limited, so get there early.
Do you have any swag or prizes to giveaway?
We have lots of stuff to giveaway this year!
Keyboards, Mice, and headsets from Logitech
Network cards from Bigfoot Networks
Ship Models, time codes, and maybe some.......Monocles? You'll have to come visit us and see!
Are you having a party and how do I get in??
We sure are, but it's not quite like the ones you may know or have heard from previous years. This year we have a very limited capacity and it will be something a little more intimate for our fans, players, partners, and press.
Please visit http://eveonlinepax2011.eventbrite.com/ and carefully follow the instructions provided there if you wish to attend the party.
Any other cool EVE stuff going on at PAX?
Outside of the booth and the party, we are sponsoring the yearly Intel BYOC Pod Race. You can find out more about that here: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/146539/byoc-ccpeve-pod-anual-race-event
We have generously sponsored prizes form that consisting of the following:
1st - Full Faction Battleship Set + InGame Monocle 2nd - EVE Conquests Board game + InGame Monocle 3rd - 2 x 60 Day Time Codes + InGame Monocle
Is there someone I can contact for any further questions about PAX?
You can contact me at michaelread AT ccpgames.com

OMG A MONOCLE!!! that expensive pos in game that the majority (imo) of players f*cking hate with a passion, thats what your giving away as a prize? now of course i wont be there and so should just stfu but....this is fun. instead of giving away the monocle alone, i think it should be engraved, douche bag or something of the sorts so when these "winners" wear it in-game we can all get a giggle cause we know where they got it from, and agree there a total douche. but i guess other than that thnx for giving away an expensive in-game prize even though no one in game understands why its expensive. but thumbs up (i didnt say where) to you.

See those of us in the area of ComicCon Indy are in "flyover" country , we don't count to Washington D.C., or to the rest of the planet. Even though we feed 1/3rd of 'em from here.
- anyway - (steps off the soapbox)
If someone who cares gets to Seattle , please ask why Jove space is , so far , unattainable.
Even though the Amarr , now it seems The Sansha , have access to it. There is your next expansion folks.

Ummm....why is this not mentioned in the announcement? Apparently Link shouldn't fly that flag too high. FFS, you don't even mention him as an attendee.

Actually CCP was there, but for other business reasons.
GenCon is not a show that is has been one moving up in the digital space. These shows are costly and targeting the right ones for us is part of my job. I realize that GenCon saw some growth this year, but I believe that it mainly due to that industry slowing down and concentrating.
Don't get me wrong. I think GenCon is a great show for what it is and it represents it well. It's just not feasible for us in with our focus moving forward.

I think if you involve some local players, hand out some swag, you could probably get some pretty cheap exposure.
PS. Thank you for the reply :)

Hello everyone... Just wanted to drop a Howdy and let you know if you have any questions about the POD race (and if Daishi needs assistance) I can answer any questions you may have. I'll be the admin at the event running the POD race, this being our 6th Eve POD race event, I'm sure everyone will have a blast (as always). CCP offered up some AWESOME prizes this time as well, I'm sure you guys will love them! I apologize I haven't had the chance to post until now, as I'm sure you can imagine things have been VERY busy getting PAX all ready to go for the BYOC Event.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance and I'll see you all this weekend! :)

Heh. That was a good one. Hi five!
For those who don't get the historical reference here, Soundwave couldn't make it on stage for a give-away because of press appointments. So we gave free stuff to the first person to send him some smack through EVE Gate :D.
I also had a blast at PAX. Just got home after 15 hours of travel, very tired but happy. It was my first time out there and I was very impressed with the whole show as well as the city of Seattle. It's very much invigorating to get the chance to talk to both existing and future players about EVE. Thanks to everyone who came to see us.
p.s. I think you should use the new keyboard to send Soundwave a fan mail for balance ;)

Haha will do, I'll call him a sexy man. Glad you enjoyed Seattle, it definitely helped that we had beautiful weather... it can get a bit drab in the winter when it rains all the time. Cheers!
