Originally by: Muck Raker Amazing news reaches Gutter Press today, about some Minmatar Academics who are outraged at the curriculum that most Federation schools follow, particularly the History curriculum.
"Gallente revisionists are making our people look like savages!" said one Seibestor Tribe educator, alleging that Federal History textbooks paint the Minmatar in a less than satisfactory light.
"These allegations are bunk" responds an Intaki teacher. "They want to ignore the Federal contribution to Minmatar society. They are the revisionists!"
Other social commentators have also expressed their opinions: "Frankly, this is a storm in a Quafe-cup", said one socialite. "They're like, arguing about like, the meaning of 'rebellion' compared to you know 'uprising' and stuff, it's like totally silly" said a teen boy band member.
The arguments stem from the controversy surrounding the events commonly described in Federation textbooks as "The Minmatar Rebellion", where it mentions the vast amount of Federal funding, training and equipment support given to the Minmatar during the last few years of throwing out the Empire from traditionally Minmatar worlds.
A Vherokior educator had this to say: "Rebellion" is an entirely different word from "uprising", Rebellion suggests some form of legitimacy for the thing that was thrown out, whereas Uprising does not. Calling it the Minmatar Rebellion says the Amarr had some right to be there. Which is clearly not the case! Furthermore, we had ships, we had a fleet, we were not some band of half-dressed savages that needed Federal guns and ships to save us. These Federal textbooks are appalling and only serve to isolate the Minmatar living in the Federation from the Republic.
A counterstatement from a Gallente official at the Federal Administration said: "The Minmatar successfully removed Amarrian influence from their worlds, with substantial Gallente assistance. Those are the facts. This argument and these lawsuits are un-Federal activities, and people should think twice before expressing such divisive and unconstructive opinions."
The debates and arguments continue in schools and courts across the Federation, so Gutter Press asked some people on the street what the Word is.
"It's silly, innit, you know like, cos the Caldari are like, menacing, innit, and we just wanna like, do stuff, and they're all like, No." said one Quafe fan at a sporting event organised by the company.
"Politics should totally be like, left out of schools. Except politics classes, obviously." said one enthusiastic campaigner for more rights for cyber-enhanced individuals.
Whatever happens next, Gutter Press will keep an eye on it!
Patently false from the first word to the last. Luckily for us all, slander is in fact a crime in the Federation. I am not a lawyer, but I believe that this qualifies. ----------------
