Sorry, I don't see a way of searching the forums. I got one of these after defeating a Serpentis Drug courier. Had a location in the log. ANyone know what to do with it?

If you go to the location you will likely find a spawn of pirates.

Here you have 2 options you can search out the are the log tells you about to see if it has any nice spawns.
or you can recyle the log and get some Iso and Nox

Cool...Thanks for the help. Do I need to go to that area in a within a specific amount of time or is it just generally an area the usually has pirates?

any time will do, but if someone was there recently, the npc's might need some time to respawn.

These places are cool for starting players. As there generally is a static container located in the "center" of the area which contains decent named loot. If its empty, that means someone was there recently and youll have to wait it out. Its a good place to start your NPC career if you're new. Otherwise, I would just recylce it.

if yorue into the whole exploration thing and NPC combat is youre game then following player logs is a great way of finding hte moons with pirate spawns etc.
Well hidden by CCP and in the outer systems can be quite dangerous / profitable / high quality loot

Or, you can use option number 3, which is the best of both other options:
Read the log, use a handy data recording device (pen+paper, txt file etc) to note down the contents, then recycle it.
