I would gladly do any kind of JF work for you for two months for a fraction of your stated price for a pilot and the truck (if you were of any reasonable shade of blue).
What I would recommend to you is scaling down the bond to the 5b you can fully collateralize, perhaps offer lower interest rate (20% sounds a bit too good to be true). Train one char for a Noctis or buy one if you really want to, and make a deal with any JF pilot in your corp/alliance/renting alliance/coalition. If the profits you can make are really as good as you state, in a month or two you should have enough ISK to expand in any way you wish (such as getting your own JF). ---

Edited by: Abdiel Kavash on 29/08/2011 17:00:49 I will try to be as constructive as possible. I will keep assuming that your intention is not to scam. You have a good idea which could get you a lot of money if properly executed. However your execution leaves a lot to be desired.
Originally by: Todos Santos If you are not familiar with null sec, or even the IC stories, trust in null sec is quite rare. People will shamelessly try to rip you off. Being blue means don't shoot, but nothing beyond that.
I would, however, appreciate if you wouldn't make generalizations such as this. In the null sec I have been living in for a year and a half, it is almost exactly the opposite. I frequently trust and am trusted with hundreds of milions if not bilions of ISK against nothing but my word and a blue icon. In fact, if the situation in your space is as you describe, and you do not have any strong ties to your corporation, I would suggest leaving them and looking for a better home. Nobody can force you to work with people who are, in your words, trying to rip you off.
But back to the business.
Quote: By securing my own JF, I eliminate the risk of theft to zero.
However, you do nothing against the risk of said JF blowing up. Aside from that, I am guessing you have never flown a JF yourself. This alone means that you will have a substantially higher chance of making a mistake than an experienced JF pilot. A mistake which will cost you both the cargo and the jump truck.
Quote: Collateral isn't really a magic invulnerability shield against theft.
It in fact is - both against theft and against genuine failure (JF blowing up). If you are not familiar with the mechanics, you set a collateral that is higher than the value of your goods. This means that in case the JF pilot fails to deliver for whatever reason, you make even more money without having to bother with selling anything. Of course, the JF pilot is protected as well, because the game mechanics guarantee he will get his money and payout back after a succesful delivery.
Quote: Lastly, couriers are out of question due to the sheer volume of loot + salvage gained daily that needs to be shifted weekly, if not daily.
Really? Would it hurt your business so much if you just stockpiled your loot in a station, and get someone to haul it out weekly or even less often? If you're just selling the loot, it doesn't matter when it gets to a trade hub, just that it gets there at all. Even for the JF pilot, it is much easier to make several trips in succession, as he can get his cyno chain and scouts in place.
Quote: I'd like to point out that I do understand people questioning the legitimacy of this venture. Not a lot here seem to be null sec savvy, and even less seems to understand how it works. I try to explain and educate probable investors as to what I am facing, and justifying the amount that I am asking for.
Any questions about the legitimacy and low interest rates would be void if you limited yourself to the 5b portion you can fully collateralize. Going by other similar offerings, you would also get investors pretty much immediately.
Quote: I have to agree with you, null sec is a dangerous, paranoid place, and dealing with it alone is necessary. Renter alliances are nothing more than a bunch of corporations trying to make money in their own systems, thinking of themselves, for themselves. I understand them, they are selfish, but thatĘs the way people operate, can't do a damn about it, heck I am like them, I am trying to make ISK for myself.
Nobody is forcing you to be selfish just because people around you are. Talk to people in your alliance or intel channels or what you have, ask for JF pilots. Keep in mind that the JF pilot would be able to make a hefty sum himself too. I can guarantee that if you pay enough someone will be willing to run a simple hauling job for you every week. ---
