At least its greatly needed for me and I know it'd be appreciated by many others.
Atm I have a HORRIBLE connection. So around every 5-20 mins I get cut off. Sometimes I get cut off while in a mission. I would love for the drones still acknoledge my commands when I return; However, I realize how exploitable that is so how about giving us 10 mins to return before the drones disown us.
Because I hate when I accidently warp out of a belt and leave my drones so I have to go back and sometimes others have already snatched them up or I have to travel about 50km to get them.
And Ive ALMOST got blown up a few times trying to recover my drones while in a mission to try to finish it.

i do that all the time just coz i forget. i guess its because the drones loose the like with the controling ship, but once the ships back, should they not regain that link aswell?

If drones are orbitting your ship at least, they really ought to be able to warp with you. Also, they should be able to MWD back to their controller when summoned.
The oddest thing is npc reaction to abandoned drones. They'll usually only fire on them when you return. I can't recall if you have to be in range of the drone for the npc to resume hostilities though. It's been awhile since I used any.

while not directly solving/addressing the poster(s) problems, I also think that the DEVs should hop to it and finally get the other mining drone BPO's out on the open market other than the insufferable "basics" which are almost laughable to any really serious miner...
sure the BPO's will likely cost more than a black market kidney, but to finally be able to MAKE drones on par with harvesters so that the loss of one drone isn't akin to loosing a cruiser would be nice...
Please devs, the "bpo listings" for these drones have been on the market for months now, and all we want is to actually get the blueprints so we can use them...

*sigh, in a rogue drone mission... got disc'd just now and now i have to risk my ship to get my drones back

why not just have it so if your connection to the server is terminated your drones just automatically return to you and go back in your drone bay... seems like a much simpler solution
