CCP's plan to ignore FW and it's players seems to have payed off. Recently returned after a short break after the Invalid patch, to find militia channel dead, corp channel dead and what little chat that was going in on has finally been snuffed out. I would like to congratulate CCP on it's total disregard of those players who demanded a CCP response to the lack of any CCP rep at the fanfest round table on FW.
It required one guy answering questions guys.

Now CCP can roll out the peace storyline to unite again against the Sansha and scrap the whole factional warfare stuff. (this is the fix) --------

I appreciate the interview first off. Thank you.
However the "no time-frame" issue is very much the double edged sword. I (and many others) complained that CCP makes promises and then doesn't deliver in time.
However, making a promise with no time-frame is essentially saying nothing.
So what do you do? Say never? Wrong answer. Say soon? No one wants to hear that. Say yes and give a date? Better be online when you say it will.

No no! Zirise isn't a CCP alt!
Zirise is Test Alliance. The alliance that was forced out of their own sov by Sniggwaffe and now spam Jita because that's the most damaging action they can take in the whole game.
They're on the forums, though, because they've been getting gagged in game.
Don't worry. With the 'block' feature actually blocking entire alliances properly and the new forums coming out next week, you truly will be able to ignore them.

So it will probably be 3-5 months before we hear about anything - assuming everything with incarna is going to plan.
It was terrible news to hear it back in june but they did tell us.
CCP soundwave said FW was very high on the priority list so nothing suggests that fw is dead or dying. It's just that 18 months is a long time.
I don't think anyone was working on fw so its not like anyone would have anything new to say about it at a round table. FW has too much potential to be scrapped. -Cearain

If it is so high on their priority, why have they not given any feedback in this thread for MONTHS now??? http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1489084
I started it when I found out from a corp mate who was at fanfest that they didn't show up to the round table. It had some initial CCP interaction and promises of feedback from CCP Soundwave. But we heard nothing. The interview from PAX where Soundwave said it was a "high priority" is the first feedback we've had for months, and I would hardly call it solid...

Yeah I agree that was bad to say they would give feed back and then not give any. I think someone in that thread said ccp soundwave would give feedback. But he probably didn't realize there was no feed back to give.
They really haven't given any feed back on low sec. But I don't think that means they are going to scrap all of low sec.
The only facts we have is that 1) In June 2010 they said it would be 18 months. 2) They had no feed back to give at fanfest 2011, and they apparently have no feedback to give in August 2011 other than to say no work has been done on it but it is a high priority.
I think they are smart enough to realize fw can be a huge draw to eve and will not just abandon it when all it really needs is some minor fixing up. But if people want to scream that it is dead they can. It may be dead, but I don't think so.

People have been saying FW is dead/dying the entire time I've been playing. My time in FW is a blast (I'm not in it right now), meet some decent players, and in general have a good time (it *is* a game, after all). I don't grind in FW, but I guess for those that are in it strictly for the ISK it's a pain.
I'll be going back to FW (probably Caldari or Amarr) as soon as missioning gets boring again. :)
ps: CCP has made it clear that they don't give a rat's arse about FW, so those of us that do FW make of it what we can.

Anyway, the new implemententation of FW will happen as soon as the stations open (soon (tm)). You can buy Sterling shirts in different colors and shout at each other in the corridors.
Fun fact: it will have more game effect than the current FW since you take PLEX out of the game to pay the shirts.

Vin - you DO NOT know... One session of Q&A with Soundwave has not given you insight into this matter. I have been making various fix FW threads since just after fan fest when CCP failed to turn up to the round table discussion. Guess what we have had in response from CCP
1) Promises that they will make it up to us
2) Promises they will respond to the thread once Soundwave got back from Russia
3) Promises that they will answer the FW questions from the Ask a dev thread
4) The response that they will look at low sec/FW AFTER 0.0
Excuse me for being a little pessimistic, but I am taking this as an opportunity to view what CCP DO regarding responding to FW on the forums, not what they SAY in a Q&A...

As I've said before, FW is the unwanted stepchild - Noah Ward was (along with others IIRC) vehemently opposed to the whole idea.
I suspect that given the Icelandic attitude to making mistakes (ie never admit it) FW is a poisoned chalice for anyone but extremely senior staff who were around when the FW expansion happened - and they're not interested in spaceships at this point in time.

A bit melodramatic to say it is dead when there are many people like me still "playing" it.
One funny thing though is a minor change I noticed CCP slipped in one of the recent patches without any patch notes/discussion I found : Removing Fed Navy Stasis Web 5 run BPCs from the LP store.
It is basically a nerf to FW mission runners, which is kind of comedy since FW missions were one of the last major reasons for people to join FW. CCP reducing one of the major LP to ISK conversions for Gallente FW has made LP value tank twice as fast. Even FW missioners are giving up to run highsec lvl 4's.
FW could REALLY use some 'ownership' from a CCP dev, and more communication. This is one of the most ignored Eve player communities. Perhaps if some comedy cross faction FW 0.0 'alliance' were formed, CCP might take notice and develop a plan for FW beginning after the 8 years of 0.0 changes.

to be fair though ccp havnt FORCED us to pay for anything we must have to stay competitive, i think you sound a bit too much like one of these bandwagon haters.
CCP havnt kept all their promises, but i DO STILL enjoy playing the game but i spose im one of those forum guys that actually still does :P

Yes i was there also.........
There is a difference between balance and total wreckage.....
I personally do not enjoy BLOB warfare as now it is not to do with ship fitments and experience, now its decided by who has the biggest blob....
CCP have kept no promises apart from the ******ed ones....
Incarna must be THE biggest pile of S*** and THE biggest let down in all of EvE history.
Thumbs up to CCP for wasting months and months of design/creation/implementation when they should have been listening to the community.

For a start, I refer you to the earlier comment of a decadent Gallente scumbag:
Originally by: Andreus Ixiris the exploiters, the unbalanced missions, the unbalanced occupancy systems, the unbalanced headcount, the lack of reward for occupancy in general or anything else yet
There's a load of stuff on top of that, not least the flawed and unbalanced plexing system.
So baically some factions get better loot and NPC-bounties than others?
Sorry for being a total noob but what are the benefits of occupying systems in FW?

Nope, the problem isn't simply an imbalance in rewards.

You would think so wouldn't you. However these same people believe that MT and playing dress up are the future of Eve. So yeah I wouldn't put to much faith into that.
Yeah but I would think they have to realize that was a mistake at this point. Yes there was an outcry when CCP basically said they were going to abandon spaceships for 18 months but there were also some players posting about how much they were looking forward to dress up.
Hell there are *still* some players saying they look forward to incarna - as if they don't realize it is already here!
But the 18 months is about to run. I think CCP is probably realizing they need to cap off the resources in "avatar walking" and start working on the large parts of the game that actually involve game play and are broken and neglected. FW is an obvious one.

+1
Actually there are different teams with differing priorities. One of those teams probably has an eye on FW. I'm sure CCP has plans in mind for it next year.
No Vin what you say, seems to contradict the dev blogs and the csm minutes. Going from memory: The last dev blog describing the teams assigned to stuff was posted about july of 2010. There were only about 7 out of over a hundred devs assigned to in space features. The last csm minutes explained that no new devs were being assigned to any in space features.
Basically the only team working on in space features is team BFF. They are in charge of the null sec expansion. Thats right the team that was originally supposed to try to do the minor fixes and low hanging fruit is basically all we have for any flying in space features.
That said I think they are very good team. They basically put all of incursions together. And they probably don't need more than 7 people to fix fw and make it work well.
Based on the information provided by ccp this is the best estimate of what is going on. If any of this is inaccurate I would love for someone from ccp to correct me. Actually I would love someone doing an interview to ask what devs are assigned to in space features - how many and what inspace features are they working on. -Cearain

Removing player to player faction standings probably didn't help either.

Occupying a system? Nothing.
You get a standings boost from winning a plex, which is perhaps the biggest mechanical benefit. That's soon superseded by mission-running once your standings is high enough to run top-level FW missions. Also, you don't actually have to win systems to get the standings.
Aside from that...
A colored dot changes on the map. You get a number in the militia office called 'victory points.' It's not used for anything.
... and that's about it. FW occupancy changes nothing meaningful for players, at all.

Yes you will be able to walk your avatar in front of different backdrops. But it is still just walking. Incarna is already here.
Your avatar will not actually talk. It will still be your voice on vent, or you typing into chat window. What you see on screen will still just be a backdrop. -Cearain
