OK, I am addicted to this game. I was running an exploration training mission and my ship was destroyed. I had some items fitted that were given to me in the tutorial, Civilian Salvager and Civilian Analyzer so I could complete the tutorial. No biggie I thought, buy a new ship and refit these items. Got back to my station, purchased a ship and then went to the market to purchase the Civilian Salvager and Analyzer but they were not available. I could purchase a Salvager 1 and Analyzer 1 but I do not have the required skills yet to fit them. Is there a work around for this or do I need to skill up and then purchase the non civilian modules to finish the tutorial? Was cool getting blown to bits for the first time..... but not sure how to complete the tutorial without my gear?

I did the same. I think the easiest thing to do is skill up. Those skills are cheap.
That said, I think you can run the same newbie career missions again with another career agent. I read somewhere that they are available at all starting systems. |

If the modules were handed out at the start of the mission you were running. You could cancel the mission and petition to have it reset so you can take it again and get new modules.
Such petitions for new players tend to be answered quite quickly I believe, but it really is no biggy to skill for the non civilian modules.
You need Survey III for both of them, Mechanic III for the Salvaging and Science III for Archaelogy (Analyser). All are tier I skills so should only take you about 12 hours and can be queued overnight and be ready for the next time you log on. All are pretty vital skills that need to be learnt anyway. Then just a few minutes each to inject and skill to L1 in Salvaging and Archaelogy when you log on tomorrow. |

FM I'm a bit mystified by this.
It should not be possible to be destroyed on an exploration training mission - there are no rats in those missions, as explained in the mission details. It sounds like you found a genuine exploration site by mistake rather than the training site. Make sure that any site you enter is clearly identified as a training site.
Why did you buy a new ship? If you dock without a ship a new rookie ship should be provided free of charge.
The normal Analyzer, Codebreaker and Salvager modules don't work in the tutorials - you will need the civilian versions to complete the training missions.
No need to go overboard with skill training. You should be OK so long as you train any skill provided in the tutorial to Level 1. |

File a petition under F12 > Petition > Gameplay > Missions in progress and if you need the item i'm sure a GM can help you out.
@Oraac Ensor - One of the training missions(if i'm not mistaken) you are given a ship to full of explosives to go near a structure in turn the ship and the structure blows up. That is the only mission I can think of off hand in the tutorial/training site that would do this now if you fit anything to this ship that will be blow up too. OK, I got it sorted out ....... Backstory: I was running a training mission (had just undocked from station) when one pilot from my group asked if he could shoot down my ship (testing I was told) lolol. I said sure, havent been blown up yet so give it a go. Being a total noob I didnt realize how it would affect my current training mission. When I podded back to station I realized that was the ship I had fitted for the mission. I ended up just quiting the mission and jumping to another station and re-ran the exploration training missions with another agent. It all worked out in the end...... no complaints.... all fun. I did not want to file a petition to the GM whining that I let my buddy shoot me down and now I am "stuck" bacause of it.... so I learned a bunch more working the problem. Some "high" points" of my lil adventure....
1. I got blown up. woops! 2. Got to travel way out to another system to find another agent. 3. Had to get into the Market, purchase the needed equipment, travel to those locations to acquire. 3. Ran all the exploration missions again. By the time I finished I was a scanning prodigy. lol
Thanks for the quick replies.... I will try not to make a dumb noob mistake again... not! lolol FM |

Do not fear dumb noob mistakes. (just don't get scammed, its so easily avoidable) What you just described is what EVE is.
Needing to get something done, and finding a way to do it. Having to figure out where to fly and getting there, fitting the ship and doing the mission, then getting all the way back home etc. Enjoy the trip as well as the destination.
I don't understand myself sometimes so you don't need to pay too much attention to this statement |

That agent gives two missions in which you lose your ship. |

You have a GREAT attitude and will go far in this game. Be sure to drop another thread here if you need anything.
I highly recommend joining "Eve University" (with your friends, if they like) corporation, who will train you up! |

Wow...just wow.
Why can't all new player have such attitude about EVE.
Your attitude is great and cause of that you will get very far in EVE.
There are usually 2 kinds of people that join EVE:
1.) The ones like you. They are open minded, willing to take advice, learn from mistakes and accept criticism. Those will learn, live and evolve into great EVE players in what ever 'profession' they are going to do.
2.) The ones that whine or complain about stuff that happened to them (99.9% of the times it was their own fault). Those people will get trolled and laughed at and usually will leave before their character is 3 months old.
I'm very very happy you are in the 1st group.
Also, when in doubt, don't be afraid to ask. There is only 1 stupid question, that's the one you didn't ask. Likely one of us old guys made the same mistake / had the same question in the past and can answer/clarify it for you. New Citizen Q&A is a great place to get help from.
Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. We are not running, we are advancing in the opposite direction |

Try to be as accurate as possible when describing a problem, that way others can offer more focussed advice - otherwise, as said, a nice un-whiney attitude is good to see. |

I realized that after I had posted, thats why i gave more information later, In Eve never assume anything...lol. On a side note.

That is actually not true, the regular Analyzer and Salvager worked just fine in the training missions. Based on your statement I looked and traveled to find another agent. Once I got to that training mission again, the new agent did not give me new Civilian modules needed to complete. I had to buy the modules (non civilian) off the market anyway. I ran the rest of the missions with the Market purchased modules with no problems. I could have just stayed in my home system.

The normal modules didn't work in the tutorials when I tried them. That must be a recent change. |
