There have been some periods of time where through travel, work, finances, etc, I just couldn't keep my account ticking. I would love to be able to make up for some of that lost time.
I know this will probably get a lot of knee jerk response from people who see Isk and SP in the same post. I am not asking for unlimited or unreasonable, or even painless SP buying. But I think with very well defined parameters it could be a service to some long term players who have been forced away from the game for one reason or another.
I would propose that months or weeks that the account was inactive would make an eligible pool a player could purchase SP from. I would set some very rigid standards such as no more then one month of fill-in SP per month of subscription time. I would propose that the SP be calculated based on the default attribute map minus 1 to all attributes, and excluding any implant effects. I would propose the SP be quite expensive. I was thinking 1 bil per months worth of fill-in SP, or 250mil per week.
If an account has changed hands, or a character has changed accounts, then the character would only be eligible to fill in for inactive time that occurred after the transition.
My other main account was started in early 2008 and I have only been able to give him enough time to make 29mil SP. I do have quite a plan worked out for training for the next two years, but it would be nice if I could speed that up little by little to help keep pace with some of my friends who have been able to stay active during times when I had to be away from the game.

I thought of that also sometimes but the exploits would just be to massive.
I have several chars from 2004, they have been inactive should I be able to buy them 100 million skillpoints?
I myself have been active from 2003 but I had on my setup a very low "perception" and super high willpower attribute. I lost alot of time training my char because I only did/do combat. I also took a break, in total I probably lost a good 30 million skillpoints because of that but hey. because the issue is so fraught with disaster there's a reason that a ccp sanctioned character trading area exists.
you proposed 1bn isk per month of SP? characters in that forum have a better SP->isk exchange rate. use that instead

I like my guys and want to spend SP exactly the way I want. The fact that there is a better isk/sp exchange means that this isn't a system which would cause abuse. Many wouldn't use it but would instead use the character trading. But to have the option open to me means I get to keep the characters I have built a history with (KB, player reputation, etc) but have a way to catch back up to some of my friends. I stated the prices I did specifically to be vastly less efficient to someone looking to simply buy lots of SP. The fact is you CAN buy sp as it stands now, I am just asking that ccp lets long term players fill in for lost time.
