Greetings potential investors!
After playing Eve off and on since '04, I've finally settled into a career path that not only makes me happy, but also provides that sense of fulfillment and while not quite the adrenaline rush of PvP, it's more steady...and I like that.
Station trading is obviously one of the fastest ways to pad your account, and while I've only recently become involved in station trading (my God, I used to haul items around the universe for pennies) and I must say it has changed my outlook on this game. Sure, the .01 wars are annoying in some regards, however, I view this (as other station traders do) as market PvP, and I absolutely love it.
On top of that, since I run a small (but optimistic) buy low/sell high business in real life, it only makes sense that I transfer that same enthusiasm into Eve. Why it took me several years to figure that out, I don't know. But it's never too late to start!
Purpose
As any intelligent capitalist knows, it takes money to make money. Now that I have a pretty firm grip on station trading, I'd like to expand my empire and instead of having a few hundred million on hand, I'd like to launch into the billion realm. Obviously, anyone familiar with trading understands that it's extremely easy to tie up your funds very quickly, so cash is king in this arena.
As stated previously, I work for myself at home, and I now have endless hours to .01 PvP my way to the top. So far, so good. It's something I can do dozens of times per day (a human bot!), and it keeps me interested.
Terms
I'm looking to secure 1 billion, which will be paid back in 30 days (from start of loan fulfillment) + 11% interest.
Total repayment of 1,110,000,000 isk
Risks
While I'm quite confident of my abilities, I'm also realistic and realize that risk is always right around the corner. Having said that, if things aren't going according to plan or I foresee any issues that would limit my ability to fulfill the terms, I'll gladly back out AND at the end of the day, I DO have RL money, and a handful of PLEX can easily be bought and used for loan fulfillment on this relatively small loan.
Future Plans
Like any up and coming business, I expect that I'll be seeking larger loans in the future to step up to the next level, so I would like to establish a list of solid business references to be able to make this happen.
Conclusion
If you have any questions at all, feel free to post them or mail me in-game...I'm on quite a bit now, so a reply shouldn't be far away. I'm in the Central US time zone, so please keep that in mind.
Though I would like to keep the list of investors as limited as possible, let's set the minimum loan amount at 100m
List of investors:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Updates will be provided throughout the loan period (if anything, for motivation for myself and other traders).
Thank you in advance, and either way I appreciate your consideration!

The answer to that would depend on your gender in RL.

Your only post history is you attempting to sell this character which in itself is an alarm bell. However you are a 2004 character and according to the CaliphLoanAlgorithmÖ you are entitled to one billion isk per year of character age . Good luck.

Yep, that was before I decided to use this "aged" character to station trade. Had someone been interested in the character before, I would have sold it and used a different one.
No funny business whatsoever - but thank you for your post!

Edited by: Skylla Pardus on 01/09/2011 07:04:43 So you've played on and off since 2004 and have no collateral? Even if it's true it's fishy.
Edit: Alt post again

It seems you left the eve board link open from when you were selling this char.
So, if you've been enjoying your station trading and have a pretty firm grip on it etc etc, why haven't you trained anything other than Trade 4 and Retail 4? No accounting, no broker relations, no margin trading or remote orders?
With a skill discrepancy between what you say you do and what you appear to do I'd be a tad suspicious.

@Skylla - Very long breaks inbetween then and now, and with different characters. Most of my eve time was spent mining (in the beginning) and/or PvP. Never got into production or anything (so no, I don't have any expensive shiny stuff lying around).
@Stealing - Unfortunately at this time all I have is cash and some various items around the universe...but nothing extremely expensive that I could call collateral. I appreciate your sincere question, though.
To everyone else: I know words are just words, but I'm just a regular, honest person looking at the possibility to take trading to the next level. I have nothing to hide, and if I have to do it on my own, I'm certainly prepared for the grind.
Question to experienced investors - what do you usually look for, for collateral? Ships, BPOs? And what kind of percentage are you comfortable with? Any info would help and be appreciated. Thanks.

@Tekota - Thank you for pointing that out, I just updated my API with eveboard, so it should reflect that in fact I am training the skills you mention.
Thanks.

Hello Yecker,
I see that you have managed to fill half of the loan already.
I would be willing to fill the other half of the loan (500M), provided that you can collateralize it by at least 75% and let me hold the collateral. (~400 Mio market value). With collateral, I could also offer you a better interest rate @ 9%.
Any item that is accessible (i.e. HS location) and that can be liquidated would be accepted (eg ships, BPO, modules).
Let me know if you are interested, if so we can set up the contract later today.

There is more to it than just limiting the offer by character age, that's just a guideline to reduce risk. I know EVE is a game, but when people lose alot of ISK in a abuse of trust it drags the game down.
Scamming may be completely legal in EVE, and it should be because it creates freedom of choice, but people still hurt from a loss. Earning a billion ISK isn't a 5 minute procedure for the honest and losing it trying to befriend or help some out really sucks. And despite the facade not everyone in EVE is mega rich. Most aren't.
When I read a offering I pay very close attention to every word or phrase written often reading it aloud to hear how it comes across. I then place the etymology of the phrases with a cultural, educational & social upbringing. From there I can deduce in a general sense where the person is coming from.
This offering in my best judgement comes across as sincere and i'd rate it relatively safe.
The poster could very well walk away with the ISK laughing but my better judgement tells me his personality type is one of a social nature. He would much rather have friends and status in the investment community than the ability to gloat over a trust exploit.
No investment can be deemed 100% safe without well assessed collateral but from my viewpoint this offer and the poster stand far above many more recent offerings.

@Tom - Thank you for your generous offer, however, I currently do not have anything for collateral. That will change in the future as I prepare for larger loans, but at this point I'm seeking investors willing to go with uncollateralized in exchange for a few more percentage points.
Again, my sincere thanks either way.

@Caliph - Thank you very much for your honest assessment of the situation. You hit the nail on its head to say the least.
500m left on this - hoping to have it wrapped up soon so that I can go full bore on the market. Thanks.

Trance, there are adults here trying to conduct business. With all due respect, I'm not sure anyone here cares about your achievements and offers. It's more than a little off-topic.

If we assume that you have been training the whole time you've been playing .. then WOW. You have 1.3mil SP. Which is what .. a month of playtime... since 2004?
I don't actually think this is a scam .. I would just doubt your ability to know what you're doing with my ISK.
I could flip 1bil on a market for about 2 hours, and make more than 11% on that .. so I think the scope of what you're doing, your skillset both SP and IRL are lacking from what your OP is proposing.
My suggestion? Learn what you're doing. A good trader could start from 100-200mil and finish on a billion ISK at the end of a week .. so you'd actually be making more ISK if you spent time there, instead of here writing posts. -------

@Lady - With all due respect, I would assume that you would make the connection that perhaps this is a character on an account created long ago, which was recently revived for the sole purpose of trading. To assume this character is my only experience in Eve is a bit silly, don't you think?
I appreciate your advice - I really do. And it sounds as if you have great skill in trading, but as far as the isk amount - sure, someone could do well starting with 100m, but I'm not satisfied with "well". I'm seeking a larger starting capital for the purpose of taking it to the next level sooner than later. Anyone with an understanding of the markets can appreciate working with a larger bankroll up front - instead of nickel and diming it (not that I have anything against that).
Anyway, thank you for chiming in. Your unique insight has been a real asset to this discussion.

If you have shown some dedication to eve in the form of a character with some reasonable SP's corp history and generally a background that suggests it is a main I will fill the whole bond.
