Ok, so I have a 14 day free trial i've been playing on, loving my character, have lots of really great skills already trained, and got a great ship with great equipment.. Well i'm at the point of buying a paid subscription, but the leader of the coorp I just joined sent me a 21 day free trial and the promise of like 75 mill isk if i activate it.. my question is do i need to activate the paid subscription on that account before I transfer my character to it? I tried transferring it last night, and the character transfer screen still says that my account is closed for character transfer, but was able to log in and not seeing the character on the new account.. it's been 14 hours now.. I also saw in passing on the forums somewhere that it costs money to use the character transfer, if so how much?? and how many isk is a plex worth and how much do those costs? thanks for any and all help you can give. |

Ok let me rephrase some of that cuz i think i might have found part of my answer.. soooo for 1 mos activation on a new account it's basically $20, and to transfer a character is $20 but you can't transfer a character on a trial account, so I would have to activate both accounts and pay for the transfer which would come out to roughly $60 for a month of game time and the remainder of the trial?? how much does plex cost and what does it equate to in isk? |

also did i screw up my account last night when i tried to transfer it while still in trial? never received an email letting me know the transfer had started, but the page on the account manager still says it's being transferred.. what happens if i decide screw the other account and just activate this one, the transfer what automatically start right? i mean it would want payment details. |

The reason your corp ceo wants you to sub with his 21 day trial is because of the buddy program. He sends you a 21 day trial, you sub, and in return he gets a PLEX that he can cash in. At the moment PLEX seems to range around 370 mil-380 mil on the market, and you can buy a Game Time Code (GTC) for $30 that can be split up into 2 PLEX. (So basically a PLEX is worth $15).
That said, most people that offer buddy invites and ISK bonuses seem to offer around 150 mil - 200 mil in ISK. (Since they'll get almost 400 mil if you sub.)
As for transfering your character, I'm pretty sure you can't. Trial characters can't be transfered (to my knowledge), and even if they could I think it costs something like $20, so it wouldn't be worth it anyways for a character that's less than 14 days old.
All that said, even though 75m seems low compared to what other people offer, I'm assuming that since you're in a corp then that ceo is going to help you get on your feet in the game. And if he knows what he's talking about, then the advice and help he could give you would be invaluable for a new player starting out. And honestly, at less than 14 days you won't miss out on much if you scrap your current character, besides having to go through the process of setting up your appearance again. Also, when you do sub you'll still get any trial days leftover. (So you have 21 days on your trial. You sub for 30 more days. You now have 51 days to play.)
TLDR: Scrap your current character, take the 21 day trial, and hope your ceo actually knows what he's talking about. At this point you won't get much holding onto your current trial character, and if your corp helps you out then your new character should get headed in a better direction, and you'll get a better idea on how to play the game. And if your ceo turns out to be an ass and doesn't send you the bonus, then you still got a free week of playtime out of it and you'll know to seek out a better corp.
Oh, and this is all assuming that you trust your current ceo and corp to actually know what they're doing and be helpful. If you don't, then you could consider getting a trial from the forums for a better bonus, or just keep your 14 day trial and sub that. Money will probably run through your hands pretty quickly until you have a better grasp of how the game operates and what ships/fittings for ships are good, so really the best thing you can get right now is a good corp that'll help you learn the ropes. |

mm.. it sounds a bit tricky to me.
What I understood is:
- you had a trial account #1
- 1 guy gave you an account #2
- the guy told you to pay for account #2 in exchange for isk (my scam sense is tickling)
- you want to transfer your old trial character to the account #2
My advice:
Leave your actual corp, leave your account #2, look for a friendlier corp and activate just the account with the character you want to play. |

Your scam sense is tingling because you don't understand what's going on, it's pretty legit (at least 90% legit)
Bascicly all accounts can send 10 buddy trial invite to to their friends, if their friends create an account withthe buddy trial and then go on to pay for a months subscription the person who gave out the buddy trial will receive a free PLEX from CCP for recruiting a new player.
He's basically offered the guy a buddy trial and said if he ditches his old trial accoutn and uses the buddy one he will give him 75 million.
To be honest, my advice to the guy would be take it, create the buddy account and pay a month, then meet up with your other character from the old trial account trade anything you want to keep to the new character and then train him, a 14 day old character won't have that much work gone into it and this way you get 51 days for the price of 30 plus if the guy comes up with the 75mil you will have plenty of funds for a while. |

i wouldnt do it simply because 75mil is nothing compared to what he is getting in return. 150mil+ is a more fair price, unless he is going to help you more in game, such as ships, advice ect. |

It'd be best to start a new account of your own to accept the invite. I wouldn't want an account someone else has set up. The offer he is putting out there is common but probably on the low end if he's not providing a decent ship with some decent training on the side.
Also I'd be careful bout having certain things on the trial account you'll be getting rid of. Namely the isk since a trial can't transfer isk out. Maybe trade but I don't think that works either. |

Edit - He is making you spend 800mil for a character transfer just so he can make 300 mil of you subscription. |

Remember this. It is a rare thing in EVE that someone will offer you something that is not intended to take advantage of you.
You will, BTW, start a second acct soon enough. Trust me on this.
When that happens, why not use the buddy system to your advantage rather than someone elses. Invite yourself and reap all the bonuses for you and not some shyster.
