This patch is fail on a number of levels that you seriously expect me to reboot my windows 7 64 bit machine for a small ui upgrade to eve. What the hell did you put in the patch that you need to change my system files ?
Rollback coming in and sub gone.

windows leaving a lock on a file ,
so windows has to reboot -
not a fail on ccp's part

hmm I also have a win 7/64 machine but patch went well and no re-boot needed..

That isn't the message I received. I received changes made to system resources and must restart to take affect. Nothing about a locked file.

I'm running windows 7 64-bit, are you sure you just didn't have a windows update come at the same time? (Or before and the message has only just popped up?)

No restart here, or apparently by anybody else. Fail IT skills more likely. Maybe why you're mad you have to restart your computer? *trollface*
Start -> Shutdown -> Restart

So long story short, it's your fault for messing your OS settings up.
Since I upgraded to Win 7 64-bit Eve has done nothing but run better.

I remember when if you farted you'd get a pop up stating "Windows must be restarted. OK/Cancel"

Why dont you lot just shut the hell up and wait and stop moaning and goin on about what the patch has done to your system or has not done, you just a complete load of moaning little kids im sure your just around the age of 10 to 14 on the last days of your summer hoilday's and bored. Ive download and installed and run win 7 64bit and have had NO NO !! problems at all.
So shut the hell up and wait for the patch day to end. UTC isnt for another 30 mins anyways.

Rebooting is also good for your comp. So if anything you should be thanking CCP for reminding you to do it.

64 bit Win7 here, and patch went smooth as silk. Even copied everything over to my Sisi folder, and patched IT up to snuff. No worries, mate.

win 7 x64 on three pc's and none need a reboot.
u may have needed a reboot cos some required directx or graphics card driver component was out of date on your pc and the eve client forced an upgrade of these components in order to work.
