hi for domi which setup will give me a better tank? if skills are equal armor: 4 x hardener 1 x dead space LAR (about 370million)
shield 2 x hardener 1 x shield amplifier 1 x dead space X-large shield booster (about 400-500 miliion)
so the armor has way better resistance but the shield version give tons more healing power. which one do you think is better?

Don't use up your mid slots on a drone boat with shield modules please.
*Edit: Unless it's an Ishtar.
**Edit: Oops, was thinking of Navy Mega instead of Navy Dominix, scratched other statement I made.

Ignore this guy. A shield tanked domi with 425 rails is able to spew out over 1k DPS, with the guns hitting 60km optimal. For PVE, nothing gallente beats the shield tanked domi. |

...shield tanked navi domi? Yes, I know it loses 50 calibration, but...

Agreed. You need 1 mid slot for an omni link, and that's it. Passive shield domi's are amazing, don't know about active though.

Passive? Passive would mean giving up low slots for shield power relays and sentry augmentors for purgers.
If you're pleased with passive, you'll be thrilled with what an active tank can achieve.

I was referring more to his implication (whether intentional or not) that a shield tanked Dominix is the best PVE boat in the game.

Post your fit please so I can look at it then.

For pure Gallente, it pretty much is.
Navy Domi (unlike most) actually suffer from that lost calibration, and Kronos is just pitiful. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

He wrote/meant the 'best' gallente PvE boat. And I don't think that's too far off for most situations. Sub cap, obviously. -----------------------------------------------

Depends what you're fighting.
Against Sansha I prefer the armor domi because of the better EM/Thermal resists against Angels I prefer the shield domi because of the better explosive resists.

Yea I can agree with that, even tho I have a strange obsession with Navy Mega, Dominix puts out so I shall have to take back my previous statement about trolls and whatnot, as it seems I did not read closely enough at the phrasing he used.

I wish the Kronos weren't so subpar, for such a pleasant paint job, I really like both the Astarte and Kronos for their aesthetics, enough so that I am willing to train an Astarte just on that alone (although I have put it off for years), so I can enjoy flying one now and then regardless of whether I could be flying something better.
Kronos tho... I dunno, I'm a week away from it on my carrier pilot, but meh... would I wanna blow that much money just for fun? Nah... Astarte tho, sure
I mean it only costs as much as a Tier 3 BS so why the hell not?
